That really is one ugly mofo. How anyone can like this over a BZL I don't know. Yes, yes, I know, matter of opinion and all that .... TBH, don't like either this or the BZL double decker (the single decker I rather like in comparison)

I still wonder to this day what BYD hired Wolfgang Egger for? Apparently he designed the okay ish (being very tolerant here) B-series buses seen in Hong Kong for instance so is this masterpiece also his work?

I'm curious to know what's happened with the EV order for the 333. I'm guessing we'll likely know around the arrival of the first one, which then triggers the question on which route they'll likely start off on in practice

The nice ones we seem to prefer are only delivered to Europe (a few French cities have them, so does Amsterdam Schipol Airport) -- and I believe are being replaced by a further redesign ( see here). The UK seems to get the ugly things delivered to Asia. I think its also a case of different bodywork builders for different orders. The new Singapore batch's bodywork has definitely been subcontracted out. Do we know if the BD11's bodywork has been designed/built in house? Because it really looks like they've cheaped out and outsourced it.

They could very well just have equivalent LHD vehicles they look much nicer! The buses they deliver domestically within China (so RHD), also feature the same bodywork as here/HK/Japan/SG.
I believe BYD now produces domestically in Europe for the EU hence why that bodywork might be exclusive to that factory.
