Not a bus stand (it’s a bus stop) but doesn’t the 260 have a bus stop on the A40 where it has to then cross 3 lanes to 50mph traffic to get to the 4th and outermost lane to turn right into old oak road?

A stop not a stand, but Mill Hill / The Rising Sun on the eastbound 251 is placed in the left hand turning lane just before the lights. During peaks when there is more traffic, buses at the stop block vehicles wishing to turn left onto Marsh Lane. As the lights go green at different times and there is more congestion in the right lane, buses find it hard to move over so close to the lights as people just don't let them in, causing a backup in the left lane!

The Givons road bus stop on the 465 on the way to Kingston from Dorking
The stop is located right on the road (no protected area) in a 50mph strech of road after a roundabout with the national speed limit coming up in a few meters down the road
