Sadly it appears 10 have died, Unfortunately appears to be inconsistent info as various news have it as 6 bus drivers, 2 controllers, 1 underground worker and 1 TfL (unspecified job)
Also appears that various public info eg twitter is carrying criticism of bus cleaning, but I don’t think it appropriate to debate safety related info on this forum so not including any links as I don’t want to encourage this public slanging match in the circumstances.

Be very wary of social media reporting.
On a simple , personal note.
I am in awe of bus drivers at the moment. I’m also a key worker. I’m relieved I have a job , and also scared of getting ill because I have to go into work and come into closer contact with people than I would like. Absolute heroes, everyone one of you, along with the support staff, engineering crews.
Social distancing in the work place is actually quite hard to achieve , but what is more challenging is the environment we work in.
Hot desking, open planned office space, touch screen displays , computers, keyboards, you name it...these are all the enemy now.
Any loss of life is tragic.
The mental health scars of those left behind will take many years to heal, if at all.

If I was still driving buses, one things for sure, at the 1st service check, I would not be checking hand rails and bells!

I feel desperately sad, bus drivers are dying. Doctors and nurses are dying - if these people keep dying there will be nobody to look after the rest of us, good people are having their lives cut, and for what? Because people's employers aren't taking the issue of PPE and personal protection/safety seriously.
They say that some things will never be the same again after Covid-19. This is one of those things, seeing as people have died due to failings and ineptitude, events cannot be allowed to repeat themselves, too many people have paid a price they shouldn't have done.

I did express my concerns with the so called new cleaning around 3-4 weeks ago. I said it was not done properly and did complain. Some were appalling before, a few have done a bit where other garages have done a lot. I have heard a CT Plus 394 driver died, a Metroline controller, 2 Go- Ahead drivers.
All assault screen in London would be sealed up by tomorrow.

It seems to be some Walworth routes but I believe the 415 buses are still housed at Battersea even though the route drivers are from Walworth. Other media links suggest two routes that serve hospitals will be included which suggest the 45 could be among them.

This ties in exactly with what one of my nephews has said, he's an engineer at a garage in London (I'm not going to say where and what company) but when the TfL bulletin came out about enhanced cleaning regimes he said "that's all ########, we haven't even got the stuff they're on about and can only do what we do now" - operators need to take note of this as they will get severely bitten once the lying becomes apparent to the wider arena.

If there is a life threatening issue, which many people believe, then they need to refuse to work.

And this is the new issue - we are now dividing key workers into categories so I wonder how long key workers outside of the NHS & transport workers should wait for their equipment.

As a former bus driver I have many good friends who are still on the buses including one close friend who is off with a touch of the covids. I know from these people that bus cleaning at a garage they drive at there has been no such thing as deep cleaning other then drivers bringing their own wipes etc. Cab cleaning has had the standard sweep out the big bits cleaning. Not gonna mention the company or the garage for obvious reasons (and yes the drivers are complaining about it directly) Although I will caveat this by saying the close friend has been off for a week now so things may have changed/improved.
