The funding and financing agreement between DFT and TFL has been extended by an additional two weeks, so will now end on 18th February. Talks are still ongoing. This is a sad state of affairs, but there's clearly too much drama in Government at the moment to focus on TfL. I do not think things have picked up in terms of passenger numbers since a lot more started working from home.

Could TfL’s money trouble cause the tendering system be in trouble? Could the consultations that haven’t come into effect be cancelled?

Could TfL’s money trouble cause the tendering system be in trouble? Could the consultations that haven’t come into effect be cancelled? Tendering I would say would be alright still with maybe a few more fixed 5 year terms with 10 year old buses. As for current consultations I wouldn't be surprised if any that will increase costs will be put on hold indefinitely. Mainly thinking the Sutton/Croydon area. The money saved from withdrawing withdrawing the 455 will not cover the increased 312 costs, a Sunday service on the S4 (plus the new S2 running every 20 mins to Epsom and on Sundays). The 407/443 are probably cost neutral as the Caterham route will be every 15 mins but the rest including the 164 extension to Sutton Hospital are definitely an increase for possibly not much in return now.

I don’t think the Croydon/Sutton changes will be affected. It is well documented that per head transport spending in Sutton is the lowest in London and the council together with the local MPs have been calling on TfL to address the imbalance for years. If anything the changes will offset any potential additional spending for years. The 164 isn’t due to be extended until hospital is complete anyway so for now it is a moot point and given that the hospital has recently had its construction budget cut may not actually be as big as expected.

And no mention of even a years delay to the 60+ free travel. Disgraceful quite frankly.

£5 single for the cable car with no return ticket? Might as well shut the biggest white elephant.

Comment "Retention of free travel for all children under 11" interesting Am I right in thinking they don't need a zip card at present and are just waved on to buses and trains. Maybe the older zip card is facing changes.

Comment "Retention of free travel for all children under 11" interesting I can't say I'm surprised as the genie's been pulled out the bottle on that which is quite difficult to put back amid backlash, especially also at a time when utility costs are expected to substantially increase.

£5 single for the cable car with no return ticket? Might as well shut the biggest white elephant. I’ve always viewed the cable car as nothing more than a tourist attraction - something to do if you go for a meal and a show at the O2. Personally I don’t think axing return tickets is that big of a deal - it’s pretty easy to use the DLR or Jubilee Line to get back across the river and if you’ve used the cable car as a tourist then you’ll likely have the means to use the DLR or Jubilee. Just like the ‘Millennium Dome’ morphed from white elephant to tourist attraction, perhaps the cable car should viewed in the same way? As to the other rises - who didn’t see that coming? I do, however, wonder if there are changes afoot to the Zip Oyster given its lack of a mention

Think we need to wait for the official TfL release

Think we need to wait for the official TfL release Probably just simply that buses/trams are still free but tube fares increase from 75p to 80p for 11-18s.
