Think Aldgate bus station is also a free fro all How about Waltham cross - dedicated stands? Think at most bus stations it’s a free for all - lakeside? Blue water? Aldgate has a dedicated lane for the 343 mysteriously, however all other routes park wherever. Lakeside has dedicated stands for the 370 and 372.

For Harrow Bus Station, it’s yes and no. Yes, because routes 223, 395 & 483 have their own stands. Buses on the 483 stand outside St George’s Centre and buses from routes 223 & 395 have their own stand after St George’s but just before the bus station - on Kymberley Road. The rest of the stands are just around the bus station forecourt which are used by buses from other terminating routes like the 340, H11, H17, H18 & H19 and now the X140. There’s another stop just after the bus - the Harrow Community Transport stop which acts as a sort of overflow stand for when the main bus station is full - which is useful because Harrow Bus Station is rather small. These are also used by buses that are used on the terminating routes.

At Victoria bus station, obviously they send each route down its own little mini road, from which it then advances to its own stop further along that road to pick people up. I like this idea but it can be slightly daunting crossing multiple bus lanes as a pedestrian. Golders Green bus station seems quite organised in terms of where each route stands, as well.
But I think in a lot of bus station standing areas, it's simply a question of who gets there first, until they pull out to begin the route and each serves its specific first stop in the bus station.

Putney Heath (more like a collection of bus stands) is a free for all except stand on Wildcroft Road where only 424 can and is meant to stand. Recently (before lockdown) I have started seeing the 424 using the main stands?

Turnpike Lane was sort of free for all stand with two pairs of stands within the bus station with a main one near the entrance which is used by the 121/184/221/232/329 and smaller one at the top right hand corner of the bus station which is used by the 217/231/444. Since last year when the 232 went to Go-Ahead where it had a Bay A designated specifically for the route and the 444 had specific bay at the top to accommodate the longer hydrogen buses that was used on the 444 until March this year and leaving the 217/231 to use the stand next to the trees.
Brent Cross is pretty much free for all where all the routes (except the 189) uses any bays , with one next to the entrance of the shopping centre with buses facing in either directions and one next at bottom which is dedicatedly used by the 189 (as it uses LT's) and also other routes if there is space available. Though this can be problematic due to the amount of routes that terminate there and with limited stand space available at Brent Cross.
I think if any bus station can give Stratford a run for its money with the overcrowding it's Brent Cross. It's so badly designed the stands don't even have a set direction in which they can be occupied. I've seen examples where two buses almost had head ons because two of them tried to pull into the same bay in opposite directions. When they redid the bus station a couple of years back I was hoping they'd fix it but they didn't. I wonder if the reason the 232 got its dedicated stand was because of the Live changeovers which started to take place, Turnpike Lane has a stand in the middle where it's impossible to overtake a bus in front and should a 232 get in the way there it would spell disaster. yes the reason 232 got its own dedicated stand is because of live changeovers as Arriva drivers kept complaining to TFL about 232 blocking them, but now 232 are out of their way it has got worse because the 221 329 121 and 184 keep blocking each other lol, they can't complain about 232 now😁
