Greetings from Malta peeps. Sitting here in the Covid 19 restrictions has got me thinking of buses we used to have here in Malta. When I arrived here in Malta I was quite taken aback to get on an Arriva Bendi showing 73 and Seven Sisters on the Blinds and still all the London adverts inside. Most will know the saga of the bendi's here where they were all taken out of service literally within a couple of hours of the last Bendi fire. However in the initial Arriva period here we had many uk single deckers here on short term loan, wish i had taken pics. On the sightseeing service there were even more variety. On Gozo there was Daimler fleetline. Here on Malta there was the fleet of ex LT Titans, an ex Northern General Routmaster, there was even a Daimler ( I think CV6) ex Northampton, a single deck open top bus ( ex coach) and a couple of ex Glasgow Volvos. The only survivors now being the Volvos. `would love to know where the others went. It may be a small island but there is still quite a variety here

A highlight for me was seeing this former London Titan T1056 (A56THX) on my visit in 2013.

When I was in Malta back in 2015, whilst on the mainland, I mainly traveled about on the Volvo B7RLE's and the King Long's (Which I quite liked!) Our first night there, we organised a trip to some festival where the local towns had some sort of Firework competition (If I remember correctly!) Thinking we'd be picked up and dropped off in a coach (as you do) I was shocked when open top Scania Olympus LPY015 pulled up at the hotel and the rep jumped out! That was a surreal journey back to the hotel at 0130 in the morning! I spend a day on Gozo, being ferried about aboard DAF SB3000, DPY023, which was new to Airlinks as their Y322HUA. Whilst there, I bumped into former London United/East Thames Buses Metrobus M1010. Dare say that's no longer with us. Wouldn't mind visiting Malta again at some point, even if the Mosquitoes did bite me to sh*t! www.flickr.com/photos/62959794@N06/19288476980/in/album-72157653218465383/

The Titans, Metro's and older have now gone ( there was even a fleetline in Gozo), we have Eviro's many other ex London Buses converted to open top for sightseeing , what I find really amusing is that whilst converted to open top you can still see where the ex London Buses transfers were and even have an Eviro still with its London Fleet number

Yes , Most were repainted into Arriva, but a few stayed and operated in LT red. Some even retained the LT blinds on the side.
