Why aren’t there any 24 hr bus routes or night routes along Dagenham Heathway I've long felt the 174 should be one, but I can't see it happening now. There's the N15 which is walking distance from the northern part and weekends you have the 145 serving the southern part.

There's the N15 which is walking distance from the northern part and weekends you have the 145 serving the southern part. As mentioned there are nearby routes. The Heathway is dead at night, especially Mon-Fri, in the late evening the biggest flow of passengers are from the District line. After that passenger flow in the area is non existent.

I'm surprised during the boom years the 145 or 174 didn't get a night service. The 174 probably didn't due to the N86 to Harold Hill.
Unfortunately now I'd be very surprised to see any new night services being created bar the reintroduction of an N if the day service gets shortened like the N25, N53, N266 etc.

When the 25 changes were out to consultation there was no talk of the night service but I'm sure tfl realised there was no way they could get away with the night service starting at Holborn Circus.

Years ago in about 2006 I missed the last Blue Triangle 372 from Aveley to Rainham and had little cash but had a Travelcard and had to walk to Martins Corner from Aveley to get a N15 back to London was a very long walk but lucky it was summer but to still think Rainham Town or Heathway doesn't still have a Night route is quite shocking but in hindsight Mard**e or Longbridge Road aren't really that far from either and I can't ever see now there being any Night Routes made to serve these areas .

TfL would have kittens about such non-standardisation.

Far more dangerous places in London those times at night where there was serious violence. Conductors got robbed, some driver got robbed etc

Mr. Capital is right, it's a lot quieter in the area than the reputation would give credit for. I think in the case of Dagenham the bark is worse than the bite.....

There used to be the N95 that ran from Victoria Station to Dagenham via the Heathway. That was introduced in about 1984, when the night bus changes also saw the end of the N84 with an improved service on the N95. That was lost when the N15 was introduced and ran to Romford instead.
