Since there isn't really a thread (that I know of) that covers this, I thought it would be useful to provide links related to bus performance and other bus related statistics, these can be sourced from the TfL website, however I should imagine this will make it easier for some people to locate. I should imagine this will also be useful for people who happen to be on the forum and aren't aware of these publications as of yet. Please let me know if there is a similar thread and I will remove the post immediately, my intention is not to duplicate what someone might have previously posted.
If you're interested in finding out about your general bus performance, TfL release graphs to the public in regards to this, you can find it here:
tfl.gov.uk/forms/14144.aspx
All you need to do is search for the route you are looking for and it will then allow you to download the performance graph for that said route.
You can also find and download reports for routes in a specific borough
Said graph will show you:
Excess Waiting Time (EWT): this is the average time passengers wait over and above what would have been expected if the service was running exactly as scheduled.
Kilometres operated performance information is available for all routes regardless of frequency. It is the amount of kilometres run in relation to a route's schedule. For example, a route that runs 98 miles out of a scheduled 100 miles has run 98 percent of its schedule.
Just give you an idea of how reliable said route is in general
For those of you who don't know know to read the graph:
Top line - data for this year
Middle line - data for last year
Bottom line - a minimum standard
The date range covers a year broken into four-weekly reporting periods. Period 1 starts on 1 April and period 13 ends on 31 March.
If you have other queries in regards to this, you can check: Frequently asked questions
If you're interested in how operators compare with each other in regards to performing against a number of measures, TfL have various bus operator league tables which you can find here:
tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-operator-league-tables
Bus network development papers show you how new developments in London might require changes to the bus network. You can find it here:
tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-network-development-papers
You can also check crime statistics on buses in various London boroughs, which you can find here:
tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-crime-statistics
Last of all, something that might be of interest is the Bus fleet data & audits.
Data shows fleet size, respective percentage of the fleet and average age by operator for comparison with previous audits.
For anything else that I may not have included above, these can be found under here:
