The 10 from Victoria to Abridge which operated from 1934 to 1972 Or the 96 which ran from Putney Common to Redbridge. The route was withdrawn in 1958 after the bus crews strike. |

I'd love to see the old 247 Epping to Brentwood run again. I was too young to ride on that, but it was some route. Epping, Abridge, Stapleford Abbotts, Romford, Harold Wood, Warley and Brentwood.
Also route 254, South Woodford via current 549 to Buckhurst Hill, then it did a loop around Loughton and Debden. From Buckhurst Hill it followed current 167 to Loughton Station then High Rd, Church Hill, Rectory Lane, Oakwood Hill and back to Loughton Station. Oakwood Hill hasn't had a decent route on it since.

I've changed the parameters from RT old to 1990.. Fair enough - I like to nominate the 109 as one I'd always loved to have done end to end as a kid and on a L or M in particular - only ever did the 109 between Brixton & Croydon. I don't remember ever riding the section between Brixton & Trafalgar Square as a kid though I do certainly remember taking a 159 under South London into Central during the red & cream branded RM era in the 90's. |

I'd have loved to have done the 109 as well. I did do the 25 from Ilford to Tottenham Court road and Stratford to Oxo before the cut. It was fairly busy but I was actually surprised how quick the journey went from Ilford to TCR was at around 90 mins.

I'd have loved to have done the 109 as well. I did do the 25 from Ilford to Tottenham Court road and Stratford to Oxo before the cut. It was fairly busy but I was actually surprised how quick the journey went from Ilford to TCR was at around 90 mins. I managed to do the 25 end to end from Ilford to Oxford Circus though it took 2 attempts as the first time I attempted it, nothing was going beyond Holborn - also managed the 23 on a loan Stagecoach Trident from Liverpool Street to Westbourne Park on my way to the Westbourne Park open day. |

Long enough  - in all seriousness, it wasn't so bad between Ilford & Aldgate, it was more the City & Oxford Street where time is sapped from traffic lights and congestion. It took a good 2 hours to do - Aldgate took a good time to pass through. |
