Yes, this is true, MP Mike Freer announced it yesterday on his Facebook page as well.

Presumably this will be a double run to Woodside Park Station, then via the 263 to the hospital, terminating in the hospital grounds?

I am assuming via 263 to Granville Road then using that to enter the grounds of the hospital as I believe it would be possible for a bus to turn round down there. Not sure about the double run at Woodside Park, probably so. I do know that currently - for whatever reason I know not - some services have been temporarily suspended at Edgware Hospital and moved to Finchley Memorial e.g. Walk-in X-Rays and other activities. Presumably if you were coming from Edgware you could now change at north Finchley from a 221 to a 383 or similar.

So they have the money to do this and extend the W10/456 over loads of new roads with completely untested demand, but not the money to keep the 384 serving roads it's served since 1990.
The extra walking distances to the 384 are far greater than the short distance from the 263 to FMH. And people will be completely cut off from being able to get to Barnet Hospital as well.
Totally illogical - clearly this wondrous mayor who they're all singing the praises of/helped get TfL into the financial mess it's in in the first place thinks some areas of London are more important than others.

We know Battersea and Chelsea were looked after with the saving of the 19 whereas the 384 gets the bad deal.

We know Battersea and Chelsea were looked after with the saving of the 19 whereas the 384 gets the bad deal. It was the Kings Road that was looked after rather than Battersea given every bus route survived intact. Even then, the 19 was rightly saved personally which the local MP & residents petitioned to keep.

My understanding is that a range of health services have shifted (perhaps temporarily) from Edgware to FMH because of Covid-19 security issues. So, for example, people from Edgware, Mill Hill etc. need a bus connection to FMH with one change rather than two. (And might also provide reason for speeding up 384 change for that matter).

As I said, Tfl consider the neeeds/convenience of some areas to be more important than the needs of others. They're not even subtle about it.

There are now markings on the ground on the south side of the car park where a stand will be erected (tomorrow I presume).
Is this change still going ahead on the 1st - it seems there has been little publicity on TfL's part, nothing on the bus status website etc.

I did wonder whether it might now happen on 29th August along with extensions to 112 and 384 and thus be a 'package' of extensions and improvements in hospital access etc... I guess we shall see.
(And until I wrote that I hadn't clicked that 383/112 is now an interchange - not sure if that provides any interesting new links?)

Attachment Deletednew bus stop tiles installed for the 383 extension to Memorial Hospital. No timetables just yet. Presuming the additional PVR is only +1?
