Is the “Ye Olde Cherry Tree” bus stops in Southgate the only ones that are named after a pub? Certainly not. There are still quite a few stops named after pubs. It used to be even more common, going back to the days when pubs were major landmarks (as well as often being used as bus termini), but is avoided these days given that pubs are prone to changing their name or closing down.
I do like the upbeat iBus announcement for Ye Olde Cherry Tree though - it sounds as if the announcer is excited at the thought of going to the pub.

I remember a terminus at Palmers Green; I think it was called Palmers Green Cock. Now that's an interesting name for a curtailment or a terminus.

Ah yes pub destinations. East Acton Goldsmith Arms was one of my favourites on the 15 (Sunday’s) and Ashford Dog and Partridge on the 290.

There still are a few - Bricklayers Arms, Shooter’s Hill sun-in-the-sands One thing I must admit I never have been able to figure out. Is the royal standard pub at Blackheath named after the area or the other way around?

As has Sun-In-The-Sands whilst Elephant & Castle got it's name from a coaching inn as the area was really known as Newington which is referenced in the surviving road names of Newington Butts & Newington Causeway as well as Newington Gardens, an open space on Harper Road

Bus stops along Kingsground Eltham have no tiles, not just blanks but no actual board for tiles to be put on. Does anyone know why, and is this unique?

Is the “Ye Olde Cherry Tree” bus stops in Southgate the only ones that are named after a pub? Route 81- 'Ye Olde George Inn' in Colnbrook Routes 195, 278 and H98- 'Adam & Eve' in Hayes are some more examples.

Is the “Ye Olde Cherry Tree” bus stops in Southgate the only ones that are named after a pub? Upper Belvedere has 1 stop named after a Pub “The Eardley Arms”. No other stops in the entire Belvedere area named after any Pub if I’m correct.

I'm sure Nathan Way was a case of a few delinquents running around taking all the tiles off with a saw or something, I remember until shortly before the introduction of the 301 those flags all looked like the tiles were brutally forced off, the bottom of the flag was all rugged. It was certainly a sight going down there on the 472.

Besides Merton Garage which other shed now has diesel deckers, hybrid deckers, micro-hybrid deckers and zero emission electric deckers among their routes?
