Can’t find any comments on this, but sometime in last few days, TfL have uploaded the latest fleet audit (as at 31 March 2020) content.tfl.gov.uk/fleet-audit-report-31-march-2020.pdfThe fleet has been shrinking again, to 9102 buses of which 8504 (93.43%) are euroVI or zero emission In 2019 only 481 buses joined fleet (some years have been double that) Plenty more data including link to spreadsheet. TfL link here I would suspect that most (if not all) the euroIII and euroIV buses remaining are already withdrawn (in 4 months since data date) or are about to be withdrawn

Wonder what the remaing 1 is/was. **EDIT** seems the vehicle is T174 according to the spreadsheet.

Also it is quite revealing how things have changed using table 3, in 12 months to 31/3/20
Hybrid double deck up 104 buses, electric double deck up up 110 buses Not aware of hybrids ordered in 2020 (rather than 2019 orders still being delivered)
But lot more fun, comparing first and last column to give 10 year change:
New routemaster 0 > 1000 (+1000) routemaster 18 > 7 ( -11) articulated 320 > 0 (-320) Single deck diesel 2676 > 2406 (-272) Single deck hydrogen 0 > 2 (+2) Single deck hybrid 27 > 0 (-27) Single deck electric 0 > 201 (+201) Double deck diesel 5554 > 2598 (-2946) Double deck hybrid 29 > 2773 (+2744) Double deck electric 0 > 115 (+115)
So 360 less artic, 989 more routemaster, 96 fewer single decks and 87 fewer double decks

TfL have today uploaded the new fleet audit 31st March 2021 9068 buses (down 34 on last years 9102), but this includes the school extras (peak was 31/3/17 9616 buses) Of school extras 9 were euro V, 57 euro IV, 10 euroIII upgraded to euroIV There is a new table 7 which breaks down single decks by bus length content.tfl.gov.uk/fleet-annual-audit-report-31-march-2021.pdfThere is also a spreadsheet on this link tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-fleet-data-and-auditsThe fleet age profile is very uneven (see table 2) eg 2016 has 1070 buses, 2017 has 1040 buses but 2019 has just 481 buses and 2020 just 312 buses Just one bus from 2005 remains, 12 from 2006, 70 from 2007

Given that vehicles can typically be withdrawn after around 12 years, allowing for 1 tender term of 5 years and the other of 7 years, this does add up. Of course a few vehicles go off lease early.
