Just saw 2418 on the V690 Around 5-7 passengers which I guess is an improvement? 2418 itself was looking a bit shoddy with some panels having the black window detailing (pre refurb vehicles) and others not, and just having a mixture of freshly repainted, dented and scratched panels

The regular service is always empty pandemic or no pandemic.

Given Abellio have been operating school extras for many Go-Ahead bus routes, and will have more vehicles made spare from tomorrow, I presume Abellio will continue to operate the V484?

The normal buses run around 40-50 minutes before the V Didn't know that, I think out of all V extras the 639/670 don't need it, I think maybe there was a particular number of students that day staying in late, I couldn't guess why.

Saw 3-4 passengers on the V639 today, must be a record!

Just heard from a friend that school extras end on 28th May, apparently no funding to continue them after school half term.
I cannot find anything that gives a specific end date, but TfL does tend to wait until few days before school term starts to update its bus changes webpage. Does anyone know more.
I am guessing (trying to read between the lines, as snoggle used to do) that it probably means, unless there is late decision to extend them, they end at start of half term. A big question is if they did get extension, would it be just 2 weeks to 21st June, or to end of term month later. Just 2 weeks seems rather pointless.

Year 11s and Year 13s tend to usually have their compulsory attendance stopped at Half Term should exams usually take place. I'd imagine the reduction in pupils will warrant the removal of school buses alongside the decrease in Covid cases. Hopefully by that point most of the general population would have been given their second dose.

The current funding covers the period to the 28th May, that's not to say that further funding won't be made available beyond that date. They might reappear in early June in a reduced form, depending on whether the Government considers it necessary to retain social distancing on public transport.
