I don't think the 25 should be cut to St Pauls, City Thameslink is in the middle of nowhere but at least still further than St Paul's which the 25 serves anyway. Further by only like 0.3 miles So what's the justification for cutting it? That 0.3 miles just about puts it into reach of Chancery Lane station.

Well, City Thamelinks is no wheres land just as you said, while St Pauls has decent interchange. Also, there doesn't seem to be much up Chancery Lane, expect for a few shops. You might as well take the 8. And if they wanted to get the Central line, why not get it from St Pauls?

You can still interchange at St Pauls regardless, probably more stand space for the 25 at City Thames Link.

Originally it was going to run in service round the block to Holborn Circus. Instead it drops off at City Thameslink now. The original timetables said Holborn Viaduct with an extra 7 mins given.

The thing is St. Paul’s or City Thameslink isn’t much help for people wanting Oxford Circus - at least if the 25 reached Holborn, then you could change to a 55.

The lower freq now could probably easily fit onto the ex 171 stand.

Thanks, had a feeling I forgot another route - also, your earlier idea wasn't of splitting the 25 wasn't a bad suggestion, certainly a better solution than what they ended up doing.

Think you being a bit dramatic! Yes its been delayed and its frustrating but what can be done about it? Its a major project, the Jubilee Line suffered similar delays. The opening could slip further, the pandemic caused further delays in the testing.

The trouble we have had in the past is that rail investment needs to be planned and executed on a long-term basis. Crossrail may have encountered delays and may open to disappointing loadings due to the economic situation, but in the long-term when the economy recovers it will prove its worth. It has come too far to abandon the project now.

I'd hardly say Crossrail is pointless, the delays are unfortunate but these things can happen on projects of this size. Other projects are going ahead such as East Croydon and I wouldn't be writing CrossRail 2 off just yet.
