Occasional double deckers have appeared on the Woolwich Ferry over the years (yes, including the odd RM) but, afaik, none with farepaying passengers. I think First DDs were regulars on the ferry when the 1/N1 was run from Dagenham.

The Swanage Feert used by Route 50 is what is known as a chain ferry ie it gets pulled across by a chain. It's very scenic route

I think First DDs were regulars on the ferry when the 1/N1 was run from Dagenham. The buses First used on the 185 often used the Woolwich Ferry to get to Lewisham. One of the Dennis Arrows managed to break down on the ferry and went back and forward for an hour

It would be so handy to have Outer East London and Outer South East London linked together in some form. Bexleyheath, Erith, Woolwich, Thamesmead etc to Romford, Dagenham, Barking, Upminster etc.
