New electric coach route in Scotland

New transport start-up company Ember is to commence operating the UK's first fully-electric coach service on 1st October. Two coaches will make the 125-mile journey from Edinburgh to Dundee on a single charge. The service will also carry bicycles.
The service is funded by Triodos, the ethical bank, and the loan is part of the Governments Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS), which was set up to provide financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) while offering lenders a government-backed guarantee. The service is also supported by Dundee City Council which has installed an ultra-fast charging point for the new service in the city centre. Coincidentally local buses in Dundee are operated by National Express, which earlier this year pledged that its entire bus fleet would be zero-emission by 2030.
