Probably going to upset practically everyone but I disliked the D stock and actually prefer the S stock - I still remember that day my District Line train got turned at Plaistow and that D stock I was on was absolutely freezing. I did like the C stock though, was quite sad when they left. I think I rode the A stock once on a short trip on the Metropolitan - don't remember much besides the luggage overhead racks which were for the long distance journeys on the line

What is this Abomination you speak 😂😂😂. Nah honestly the early days it didn't even have open windows. It got retrofitted later down the line. I actually found it to be warm for the most part though it did have it's moments.

nice un-modified D Stock, with original non-opening windows, push-to-stop passenger alarm and orange communicating doors.

The Central Line will beat the Vic line by a huge margin with heat The central line is forever busy, even outside peak times it's still busy and I'm standing there like how is this like this? 😂😂 Even when trains are empty it's still roasting 🤣

I miss the D stock in pre-refurb condition I really enjoyed holding the straps and loved the wooden floor.

I'm surprised you disliked the D stock they was the most reliable on the whole underground network. The C stock I loved i was gutted I didn't get the chance to do the last one in revenue service as it got cancelled halfway through 😢

Excellent! I lived in the Mile End area in the early 80s so this is how I will always remember the D78 stock!

The single doors just annoyed me. I have a soft spot for the C stock so tacky

I think I rode the A stock once on a short trip on the Metropolitan - don't remember much besides the luggage overhead racks which were for the long distance journeys on the line The D stock grew on me over time Remember them before they added open windows and had to press a button to open the doors. Wasn’t a fan of the later policy of open all doors during a freezing January at exposed stations like Turnham Green. The C stock were always functional over comfort, all doors, few seats. I remember them as built with decor as blue and grey and aluminium (but Victoria line and 1972 stock were same). The refurbishment improved their looks inside, and had much more of an impact than the refurbishment of A or D stock in my opinion. Rarely used the surface lines in recent years so not that familiar with S stock, can’t remember anything about it that stood out. Oddly my handful of journeys on District as a teenager over 40 years ago have more memory, red trains, flare sides at bottom, but don’t remember designation, was it R stock ?

Red trains on the District were CO or CP Stock
