The National Audit Office has revealed that the amount of money spent by Local Authorities outside London has declined by 38% since the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition came to power in 2010. Tis decline is almost certainly related to the huge cuts the Government has made to Local Authority budgets in that time.
Bus use outside London has declined 10% in that time. Bus users are disproportionately low-income, BAME and female. Many will not have had alternatives to turn to and were simply no longer able to make the journeys.
