Very well balanced scheme, shame about the 407 but understandable. The route is very busy between Croydon and Sutton so makes sense to prioritise on this section. As a resident in the Sutton central I’ll certainly have my say.

Hardly surprising sadly - although I'm surprised the 157 hasn't been split. Assuming the 443 will run off the 407 contract unless it's added to the tender programme.

I would assume the same about the 407/443. Hopefully, although not mentioned, the 164 will go double decker as well.

Interesting....... I've just had a quick flick through them, the 166,312,455 I think we all knew about.... I can understand splitting the 407 in Croydon, it's not much use as a through route because it's so indirect but where is the additional stand space going to be found? I've often thought it would make more sense to extend the 403 to Sutton instead as it's a fairly short route in its current form, it used to go to Cheam back in London Country days. The 80 certainly deserves double deckers, heavy peak hour loads to and from Morden in normal circumstances, seems like it was the prisons restricting it to single deckers.

Seems to remove alot of back street sections like the 384 did. Particularly on the S3 (Lind Road, Langley park and Cedar Road) S1 in the St Helier Area.
At first didnt notice the S1 via Cotsword Road and thought the Downs Riad/Belmont station stop would only be served by the 420. 80 DD is a good thing. 164 to Marsden again good. Wasnt expecting the 407 split at all. 312 as said a while ago. The new 413 routing should allow it to keep using full size SDs.

I wondered about stand space too. With regards to the 403, I'd ideally send it to Wallington via the 410 route, and split the 410 at West Croydon so it can serve a better purpose as a Crystal Palace to Croydon route. Could improve rellaiblity too. Although i don't have the data to see how many journeys would be split

Goodness, so many big changes in the consultation!
On first look, they are very good proposals for Croydon and Sutton. They are well thought out and balanced.
I think with the new route 443 proposal, Croydon Old Town gets its first bus route? The 407 is in its current form, its certainly too long making it is a Croydon - Sutton route is the right decision as it will much easier to operate. The 405D being renumbered 645 and extended to Waddon is a good move too. Moreover Great to see the 80 being mooted for a double deck conversion. The restructured S4 sounds great too, hopefully they can put longer single decker buses on this route too.
I am definitely going to be put my comments in for this consultation, which is the first time for me since the infamous Central London bus cuts consultation.

The DD 80 obviosbly killed the plans for a new North Cheam to Hackbridge route which I felt would have been a better thing.

Croydon certainly does extremely well out of them, better than Sutton. Lots of new links and better coverage, which is very pleasing to see. Wonder how much politics comes into it, last time Sadiq narrowly lost out on winning the most votes in Croydon borough - whereas Sutton has extremely little chance of voting for a Labour candidate. Maybe I'm being too cynical!!

We all know that bus speeds need to increase but not at the expense of back streets being cut. Car usage won't decrease as a result of these changes.
