With confirmation of these proposals likely soon, and tender results due for new routes 439 & S2, how might stand spaces be affected by these changes? West Croydon - is there capacity for the 443 to additionally stand at the bus station? I'm not quite sure if there is - if there isn't, the 443 could stand at Hogarth Crescent.

Belmont (Cancer Hub) - a new stand will need to be introduced for the 80, and possibly the 164 too at a later date. Belmont Station - the 413 & S4 should both fit at the current stand along with the 280. Caterham - can the current 407 stand fit both the 434 and 443? Croydon Town Centre - the 407 could perhaps use the stand on St George's Walk (opposite the 433's) - not sure if any other routes are scheduled to use this following the previous Croydon Town Centre consultation. Sutton Station - excess space at the 164 stand, so should fit the S3 as well. Waddon Marsh - looking at where the 289/455 used to stop, the bus lane at the south end of Drury Crescent has space for 439/S4 stands. West Croydon - is there capacity for the 443 to additionally stand at the bus station? If there is no stand space in central Croydon for the 407, could it use the stand space previously used by route 312 in South Croydon? Or is that space for Arriva routes only?

Not sure there is a stand at South Croydon Garage, bus tend to stand inside TC. Even it there was a stand outside, how would they turn? More sensible option would be to extend an Arriva route. Maybe get a route standing in St Michaels Road as the 75 did in the 80s .... I am really surprised the 75 does not currently use this road to access the bus station, it should still have easy access to its stop. If that is a problem, the routes terminating the such as 194 & 403 could access the BS this way, to avoid entering and adding to Station Road congestion.

I was told that the reason the 75 doesn't use St Michael's Road is that it wouldn't be able to safely access its stop, ie in a straight line. I don't think there's room in St Michael's Road for a stand, 154's usually have to wait at the alighting point until the one in front vacates the stand.

OK, but don't see how it is any harder than the 312 making the 1st stop in Portland Road, or the ridiculously stupid routing the 130 does in South Norwood going to Thornton Heath ... how that passed any health and safety amazes me. **EDIT** Looking at Google Maps, yeah the first two bus bays would stop the 75 reaching its stop. Still does not stop West Croydon terminating buses from Wellsley Road using it.

Unlike the old layout, some of the stands now block the 75 from accessing the nearest stop to where it’s old stop was which is an afterthought when you consider how busy the 75 would be picking up at the bus station.

I think there should be stand space in Croydon Town Centre for the 407. Though it's been mentioned that routes do often swap stand space in practice, I think current arrangements are: Fairfield Halls - 50 75 197 Fell Road - 109 Katherine Street - 405 412 St Georges Walk - 433 St Georges Walk has stand spaces on both sides of the road, however the 433 only uses those on the east side. So the stands oppsite would be suitable for the 407.

Another option could be the reinstatement for a stand outside the town hall ... additionally it is not as though there is not any land awaiting demolition or redevelopment in that part of Croydon ... only stumbling block is neither Croydon or TfL have any money!

Yeah, just look a Google maps, sadly the first two bays do block the 75s path. Still no reason for the terminating routes not to use it such as 166, 194, 367, 403

It has been standing on St George's walk since about November. Not seen one on Katherine Street since then. Will try grab a photo later. The bus stand at Fell Road is obstructed by Tabener house works
