So 439 and S2, should now be moved to the 2023/24 tendering with a contract start date of 2nd March 2024. TFL should provide a tendering programme update within the coming months.

The 407/443 split will take place in December. The rest are not planned to be implemented until.... March 2024! 3.5 years from consultation to reality - yikes. That’s ridiculous. Why’s that then? Only benefit I can see from a contractual point of view is that it’ll save TfL compensating Go-Ahead for the 455 as March 2024 was when it was due to expire My thoughts exactly and surely anything said in the consultation is going to be largely irrelevant three and a half years later?

So what happens with the 470? Go Ahead need enough buses for the current PVR which they won't need come 2024 and does their contract allow for a near on having of the route in 18 months time.

A cynic might suggest the majority of changes could end up scrapped bar the ones specifically related to the 455, be an easy cash saver as don't forget, timetables, notices, stop tiles would then no longer need updating. Not my view but can't really see the point of pushing it that far back and just implementing the two easier bits in the S1 re-routing and split of the 407 which are probably the cheaper parts of the changes

I think the 470 is the only affected route to have been awarded a new contract. Presumably Go Ahead will run it onwards to Epsom now, with a similar PVR as present (rather than reduced to around 4). I suppose the minor rerouteing of the 470/S3 in Sutton could potentially still go ahead sooner.
As previously predicted, I still think the 470 will use the S1's OMs, but would now need around 7-8 of them.

Only benefit I can see from a contractual point of view is that it’ll save TfL compensating Go-Ahead for the 455 as March 2024 was when it was due to expire TfL could have handed GA routes 439 & S2 as short-term contracts until March 2024 to compensate them for route 455. Then they could have put these routes out to tender, to start on that date with the successful bidders, potentially but not necessarily GA. A bit like route X140 introduced with Metroline prior to its tendering, in the event awarded to RATP.

No evening or Sunday service. There will be a Sunday service, not sure about an evening service. My error: the consultation outcome says 30 minutes Monday to Sunday daytime (NOT Mon-Sat as I first misread it).

Will probably require around 3 buses to run. Abellio, Go Ahead and Arriva could probably all the 3 existing buses for it.

On second thoughts, if the 322 batch isn't redeployed, they could use that.
