The Bank station upgrade project requires a full suspension of the Northern Line Moorgate-Kennington 15 January 2022-15 May 2022. W&C trains start running empty on 14 June 2021 with TTN139/21, passenger services resume on 21 June I take it trains to and from Morden will effectively divert via Charing Cross? Most likely as has happened on some weekend closures recently. Luckily really the line hasn't been too segregated otherwise the option of diverting all Morden trains by Charing X wouldn't be there. Changing to the W&C will likely be the most popular option and the jubilee line to LB so its essential the line is back up to full service by then.

I’m being very brave for posting this. Is there a chance that the W&T can take over the Bank Branch when the Camden Town works have finished and the Northern line splits? So it would become a Waterloo-Mill Hill East route?

Not totally correct W&C drivers are central line drivers based at Leytonstone but could not happen because of stock and line knowledge

Adding to that the W & C Line platforms are too short to handle six car length trains The line is too short and feel it should be utilised better. I was reading the history of how it stated from the Rail companies to give a link into the city. But feel now years after it could be used as part of a crossrail 3

W&C to re-open on 21 June W&C trains start running empty on 14 June 2021 with TTN139/21, passenger services resume on 21 June Why are the trains going to be running empty for a week. What a waste of electricity and resources, when we talk about environment, green credentials etc. It is a joke imo.

With the line out of use for over a year, it's a chance to make sure all the kit is working correctly and to fix any snags before passenger service starts. Look at how much trial running Crossrail will have before it opens to the public.

And I would expect that most drivers will need to regain the competencies required for the line which includes full manual driving, something which may not happen much on there normal home on the Central.

I agree it's ridiculous, I read elsewhere that some trains have been running during the closure for staff purposes and to keep everything in working order. I'm not sure it needs to reopen at the moment anyway and there may well be uncertainty over its long term future. Ideally it would be used for a DLR or Northern City Line extension but apparently neither are possible.

They need to make sure everything will be okay for the line to re-open and the drivers need to get familiar with everything. The traction current has been on ever since the line closed.

Pre service safely checks which were similarly done with the London Eye and the Emirates Air Line Cable Cars. It's also annually done with rides at Chessington WOA, Thorpe Park, Alton Tower etc as standard practice.
