What do you think is the hardest or easiest route to learn?
I think one of the hardest has to be the H28. I think one of the easiest has to be the 116.

The pokey routes around housing estates are the ones I find most difficult - K5, E11 etc come to mind.

115 is very easy, straight road until you turn at East Ham.
473 is another pretty straightforward route.

I would say the 29 actually, never really any much traffic on the route and because most of the roads have multiple lanes, Camden Road, between Finsbury Park and Manor House etc. And because of its high PVR, bunching is not too much of an issue there are never really any turns northbound mostly central like because of roadworks or heavy traffic The 29 is also basically a straight line between Trafalgar Square to Finsbury Park, then the turn left to Manor House and then a straight line all the way to Wood Green. Only difficult thing I’d imagine is between Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road with the absolute horrific traffic one lane And hardest probably in my eyes is 189, dirty annoying passengers and crazy youth, twists and turns and very narrow roads and goes through a heavy amount of traffic. Suprised it even has LTs going through those roads in Cricklewood and Kilburn.

I’d say single decker routes are hard to learn than double decker ones.

The K5 is probably the most complicated, with number of turns, and part of the opposite direction uses different roads to add extra complication, and there is a loop done in both directions. From memory it is 50+ turns at junctions (ie not straight ahead) each way

The 389 is definitely among one of the easiest routes to learn, being London's shortest bus route at less than 2 miles. Other short routes such as the 129 will come close.

273 between Lewisham and Mottingham must be a contender.

Hardest - G1: feels like you're going down every side road in Tooting, some road names you go onto twice on the same journey because of a few loop arounds. Saint George's Hospital is the worst as it takes more than five minutes to get around, by which time you can easily forget which direction you're suppose to be going when back on Garrate Lane.
Easiest - 109: very nearly every stop is along the A23, physically the same road from Brixton to West Croydon

They wanted to go to Tooting (from Nightingale Lane area) and never took the G1 before. They used it and said that they will never take it again lol. So unreliable and takes forever. They weren't even sure if it was the right bus when the detour around the golf course started

What do you think is the hardest or easiest route to learn? I think one of the hardest has to be the H28. I think one of the easiest has to be the 116. "What's the hardest one that isn't a letter prefix route?" would be a better question because most letter prefixed routes are quite circuitous.

Let me make this a little interesting - what is the easiest & hardest routes you could learn with the only criteria being they must run as far away from your own local area as possible:
So I live in Brixton - so an easy one nowhere near me would be the 498 which is pretty much a straight route bar the very end sections whilst a hard one would be the K5 which has so many twists in it.
