Surely Lambeth have to win this. This should be higher on the list than a 20 storey tower.

No one in Brixton, including me, wants this but I'd be surprised if Lambeth overturn its construction when the people behind the development are also the people who brought Market Row & Brixton Village a few years ago. Lambeth's transport policy is meaningless, they really couldn't care less about transport in the borough.

Lambeth do seem more concerned with cycling and walking in the borough so its no surprise to me if the Overground station isn't a priority. But to be fair I do see alot of cyclists out and about when I'm over there.

They have to be when they’re priorising a building over a station that would bring many benefits.

All Lambeth have ever cared about is getting money and then wasting it hence their love affair with the Kensington crowd aka the yuppies. The problem we have is Labour councillors use Lambeth as a stepping stone hence Lib Peck as a crime tsar (Khan couldn’t pick a worse candidate even if he tried) and Steve Reed taking on the Croydon North area so he can earn more money whilst leaving Lambeth in the lurch in the process.

I just don’t get this obsession with building tower blocks in areas that don’t have them already. What’s wrong with starting at smaller blocks and then building up slowly over time rather than slapping huge blocks everywhere. Even in New Malden by the Tesco those proposed these huge blocks that would have stood 10/12 floors when everything else is max 3/4 floors around it.

Or building towers literally on top of each other (come to IoD). I am happy with some towers but here it’s getting overpowering!

Where is the planned location of the Overground station?

Great location. Iv just looked it up. Would have been very close to the other 2 stations to form an interchange. This station would have provide an easy link to Clapham Junction which arguably would have reduced demand on the massively busy Victoria line and Victoria Station as people wanting to get to lets say Gatwick could take the LO to Clapham Junction from Buxton then the mainline rather then having to change at Victoria.
