Lets not even going there - back in the early 00s the 104 and 238 both converted fully to low floor darts for a few years! Dare I even mention the 257 (Must have been the worse choice ever).

There seems to have been a trend there where routes got a considerable boost in frequency but then got a single decker conversion instead. Needless to say that the double deckers should have been kept on those routes as it just led to huge amounts of untapped demand. The 238 and 104 are still especially bad, I really think a third route is needed down Portway.

I have photos taken in May 2000 and June 2002 of Dennis Darts on route N11.
N11 was officially Dart-operated (using DPs off the 49) between April 2000 and March 2001. It reverted to double-deck when it was diverted to Wembley; any Dart appearances after that were unscheduled.
I think it was around 2004 TFL clamped down on non low floor workings on low floor routes hence SD substitutions as I remember some on the 213 and atleast once on the 154. Eventually PVLs became spare and topped up the allocation at A as I think the 93 had increased its freq.
I think the 213 had a scheduled LDP working to cover additional school journeys - at the time there were no spare low-floor DDs in the fleet, and as you say, TfL had banned step-entrance buses so the only option was to use a Dart.

There was probably a batch of NVs making appearances till 2004 on the Sutton routes and 63/363 which ultimately were not allowed after tfl wanted all low floor on low floor routes.

Go-Ahead did have a double decker shortage at certain garages around that time as Q was short and had WVL's loaned in along with LDP's appearing fairly regularly on the 45 for a period.

The 55 used to have single deckers back in the 80's at times.

The Sunday 118 and 249 used to have scheduled single deck workings, the 118 also single deck in the evenings. The 157 and 196 had isolated Dart workings from the G1 allocation during Connex's shortage of servicable Tridents.
Stockwell's R reg. LDPs¹ used on the 345 had full blinds for the 196 but were never used whilst Merton had at least one LDP working on the 280 that was noted in the LOTS TLB of the time.
¹ - LDP45-49/51

I also remember seeing a G1 MPD on the 196 as well

When rummaging through the Walworth blind store earlier this year there was a job lot of blinds from the W and Y plate DAs which had the 3 and N3 on them - not sure if they ever ran on those routes though. The ELS class appeared on the 185 on occasion as did the SPDs on the 208.
