I'll miss the current seats that seem to breathe like lungs. The new ones look very hard. That will become the norm with new stock I'm afraid just like the 345 700s etc.

Is it me or have the trains become a lot faster recently?

Is it me or have the trains become a lot faster recently? Could be in relation to recent overhauls, involving the fitting of new shoegears for better transfer of power.

Is it me or have the trains become a lot faster recently? No recent lifting of speed restrictions on any part of the Line, so no.

Northfields Depot is to be substantially altered and Cockfosters Depot (maintenance shed and cleaning shed) completely replaced, in order to accommodate the new rolling stock that will be entering service from 2025. There will also be substantial alterations to stabling points and sidings, especially at South Harrow where work is already underway to install six longer stabling berths.
Because of operational requirements the new cleaning and maintenance shed at Cockfosters will be built alongside the current buildings, which will remain operational. Once it is completed the old buildings will be demolished and the trackwork connected up to the new buildings. The work is expected to commence in early 2022 and will take approximately 28 months. As there is a separate by-pass track around the side of the depot site there should be little need to restrict access to Cockfosters station at any time.
The buildings, like many on the Piccadilly Line's 1930s extensions, were designed by the Charles Holden Architectural Practice but unlike the Stations, many of which are listed, the depot buildings are deemed to be "utilitarian with low architectural or historic interest".

It's been sadly reported that the unpainted (barring some graffiti) 72 stock train on the Aldwych Branch is due to be scrapped, the train already moved to the Acton Museum for the time being.

Any update on South Kensington? Not scheduled to reopen until 17 June. That long? Was there a setback in the works?
