The Department for Infrastructure in N Ireland has placed a £66 million order for 145 new low- and zero-emission buses and associated infrastructure.
The order for state-owned transport operator Translink will consist of 80 battery-electric and 20 Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Electric vehicles, which will be split between Metro services in Belfast and Foyle Metro services in Derry. There will also be 45 low-emission buses for Ulsterbus services across N Ireland. All the vehicles will be built locally by Wrightbus.
