content.tfl.gov.uk/harrow-bus-study.pdfTFL have come up with a range of proposals to routes 258, 395 and H17 (which is proposed for withdrawal). The proposed changes to routes 186, H9/H10 and H14 were also there aswell (so I will be excluding this one as they have been implemented already). Proposed Changes to routes 258, 395 and H17: Withdraw Route 258 between Watford Junction and Bushey, St Peter's Church. Withdraw route 258 from South Harrow and Roxeth Hill and extend from Harrow-on-theHill village (London Road) to Wembley Central following the same alignment as existing route H17 • Withdraw route H17 entirely • Redirect route 395 between South Harrow and Harrow Bus Station to serve Roxeth Hill and Harrow-on-the-Hill village instead of Bessborough Road • Increase frequency on route 258 to 3 bph on Sundays and all evenings to replicate withdrawn H17 Rationale for Change • Provide new connections between areas north and south of Harrow town centre • Provide more capacity on Sudbury Hill and Greenford Road where H17 experiences crowding • Provide new connections between Harrow-on-the-Hill village and areas around Northolt and Greenford • Better match capacity with demand on Bessborough Road and London Road • Unlock stand space in Harrow Bus Station – improving operational resilience NOTE THAT THESE PROPOSED CHANGES ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD PENDING FURTHER ANALYSIS!

So potential a thinning of service to Watford, Similar to the 20/167 withdrawal between Loughton and Debden.
The 186 proposal to withdrawn to Harrow bus station could be back on the cards. Would use the stand space vacated by the H17.

This could be where the buses for the 117 could come from.

The last sentence says the idea was implemented in 2019 which shows this document was written before the idea and isn’t a recent or updated document so I personally wouldn’t read anything into it.

Yeah didn’t notice that. However the Richmond changes have only started after a whole year since they’ve been announced so you never know...

True although weren’t they postponed due to the Hammersmith Bridge closure as the original proposal was altered given the 110 wasn’t originally going to be extended?

The 110 was still planned to be extended to Hammersmith in the first place, but using the 419 routing via Mortlake and Barnes and merging with that instead

I think Vjaska meant it wasn't originally proposed to extend over the 391 but the 419 instead.

If anything, the Watford section needs more capacity, not less.

If anything, the Watford section needs more capacity, not less. Clearly not given the data (actual fact) shows otherwise. Though I'm unsure whether the 258 proposal on there is the way of going about harmonising resources along that section.

I hope that TfL have seen idea about the 258 extend it to Ruislip via the 114 this almost recreate the old 158 now that will be a better one

Clearly if one of the services to Watford was going to be withdrawn it'd have to be the 258 given that 142 provides many more unique links if looking at public transport as a whole (ref London Overground and 258). But I'm sure that removing the 258 from Watford nonetheless would meet with a lot of opposition. The idea of sending 258 to Wembley is certainly interesting!

Some of the side roads in Wembley would be very difficult to be served by a DD bus.
