I thought of this thread following on from the best body work and batches you like. what would be the buses you hate travelling on? Or think are ugly.
For me it would be
WS
OS
SW
MCV EvoSeti (GAL Batch)
The LT

For me, LT & most Enviro 200's are really the main buses I dislike. I'm also not a fan of Wrightbus styling post Gemini2 but I don't dislike them, it's just the body I'm fundamentally not fond of apart from the Streetlite which I don't mind. Away from London, Marshall bodied Leyland Olympians is something I've never particularly liked - very ugly looking compared to Alexander, ELC, Leyland, ECW, Northern Counties, ROE or Optare bodies on the Olympian chassis.

I don't mind most E200s out of all of them I would say the metroline ones are the best ones. The LT I hate them with a passion. With Wrightbus I would say the Gemini 1s are better than the Gemini 2 the Gemini 3 is a bit of an improvement but the Gemini 1s win hands down. The ones you mention that are ugly Optare are the worst I very rarely get the 134 now because of those and the rear window on the lower deck is just stupid to be honest.

For me buses at the moment in London I'd say are Streetlites, clapped out E200s and LTs on hot days. I'm very impartial to Wright Gemini 3 and Wright Streetdeck to me they're just very average buses doesn't get me excited or happy seeing them but don't dislike them as the others. And are the worst of the current double deckers buses out there in my opinion.

In terms of current buses, the 2006-2012 Enviro200 Dart has to be one of the worst buses I've travelled on, you can't really change my opinion after going on the 166 and 289 . The E200MMC's a significant improvement, however. Streetlites aren't that bad, I find, but the WF model's just ugly, no matter which operator. LT's, I have a mixed opinion of, the early batches aren't the best, but most of them are quite good. In terms of older, withdrawn buses, most East Lancs bodied buses before the Esteem and Olympus (excluding the Myllenium). Even though Metrobus had loads and I grew up to them, they just looked awful. But this had to be their ugliest model, not sure what it was, however.

For me it had to be the early dennis tridents for stagecoach TA1-98. The seats felt too close together and claustrophobic.
Also there was no back window downstairs.

For me it has to be Scanias just find them so uncomfortable and basic internally with lots of plastic!
Not a fan of LTs either find them very dark and have low ceilings/small windows. O and of course extremely warm in the summer.

ADL E200s from 2006-2011 are awful in my opinion.

ADL Enviro200 Darts (Allison, pre 2012) - they're weak and boring IMO, some are better than others however. Legroom is cramped so I often have to sit by the emergency exit.
Scania OmniCity - If I'm ever diagnosed with spinal arthritis in the future, I'll know who to blame. The quality of the bodywork is also very poor, and cheap, and the bus vibrates way too much.
All Optare products except the MetroDecker - ugly, slow, and poorly performing vehicles.

Thanks for posting this, had completely forgotten/blocked from my mind this vehicle ever received Arriva red livery, but have hazy recollections coming back. Seem to recall enthusiast uproar at the time as it was numbered L611, indicating it was a Leyland Olympian, when it was a Volvo B10M. It later received a remodelled front when owned by Mortens, greatly improving its looks.

E400’s, especially the Voith variant running around all over in East London between regs 11-14. Dull and boring buses and can’t wait until they’re gone from East London. Same with the E200’s too, from 2006-2013 all variants of them sound dull as well.
The StreetDeck’s are in the same category as boring and dull, but they’re only available on the 340 so there’s not that many of them. The micro hybrids though found on the 44 or the hybrids found in the 262 and 473 are amazing though, they sound a lot less dull

That will be the East Lancs S type IIRC - not to everyone’s cup of tea but they were affectionately known as bomb proof or probably the only bus to survive a nuclear war given the styling.

Some Optare products have questionable reliability issues like the high floor Spectra & Excel but to call all of them slow & poor performing vehicles is stretching the truth a lot. The Excel, both versions of the Spectra, Cummins Solos, Delta, Olympus & Versa are not slow and the Delta, Solo, Olympus & Versa aren’t poor performing vehicles.

Ah, I never knew it had a model name. I'll always associate that body type with Brighton Scanias bombing along the coast - sometimes in weather conditions that put the "bomb proof" tag to the test!
I don't have a problem with travelling on ugly buses. On the contrary, if there's an ugly bus around, the best place to be is aboard it - if you're inside it you don't have to look at it
