Hey, So I am Josh and im a graphic designer working in Farringdon. I have actually been building an entirely free navigation app with the goal of telling people how busy stations are before they leave and I’m currently trying to add all the bus routes in and had some questions about issues on the bus. Like some people I know get off of to many people aren’t wearing there mask, it would be amazing if there is anyone who is still travelling that can give any insights.
Thankyou, and merry Christmas. Stay safe

Stay safe Josh I have to take the bus to work (I’m not prepared to walk for 3 hours 😄😄😄). I only really take the tube back after work as it’s off-peak times but yeah I think a lot of people would benefit from your app.

But I would love to ask you if you find congestion on the bus an issue? (Before COVID and During) and currently do you use any apps to navigate?

I totally get that, that's a fair commute! I would love to ask you if you currently use any apps to navigate public transport?

On my way to work I take the 34,W15 and the 66 none of which are congested. The 123 around 7am does get pretty congested around Tottenham and Wood Green for school kids but it’s pretty quiet now because of the hols. P.S I will try the app thanks.

I use citymapper sometimes just to work out quickest route if I’m not sure of timings, especially at night.

Stay safe Josh When I have needed to go into University I have opted for the bus over the tube where possible. My route of choice in the mornings being the 5 to Canning Town, then either the 323 to Mile End and then a 205 to Baker Street or a 115 to Aldgate and a 205 to Baker Street. Coming back in the evenings it is usually a 205 to Aldgate, a 115 to Canning Town, a 474 to Beckton and a 173 back home. One reason I try to use those ways is that almost every route I get is at the first stop meaning I minimise any chances of missing buses due to them reaching social distancing capacity. There are a few cases like the 5 and 205 where I don't get them at the first stop but I don't usually run into any issues on those routes as I board at big stops where large quantities of people get off the bus meaning I stand a good chance of boarding. I think should you make an app it'd be really good if you could highlight any first stops on routes where buses arrive empty as this could be a huge benefit to anyone using it. I've not used the tube much, however social distancing is non existent down there and I do my best to avoid it at the moment.

Stay safe Josh My work has always been in walking distance so have never used the bus or tube to work but after getting over any anxiety post lockdown, I’ve used the buses to do weekend journeys either for leisure or shopping purposes and haven’t had issues. The tube though is a problem social distancing wise but usually near the centre - on the outer sections, it’s not too busy

Until the schools broke up, I used public transport to get to work : usually two National Rail trains (SE/SWR) and then a non TfL bus : Stagecoach South’s 715.
Masking generally excellently observed on SWR and the 715, but rather less so on SE.

Busboy105 okay this is very interesting, instead of making this feed messy I have made a short survey (Multiple choice and says takes 2 minutes to answer) if you wouldn't mind taking part it would give me some more amazing insights www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LRZTPYR - again thankyou so much for the input so far

Eastlondoner62 Thankyou for getting back to me, this is funny I used to catch that bus when I lived in Canning Town! Very clever way of getting on at first stops. That would be a cool feature to know if a bus is at the start of the route. I have made a super small survey that takes 2 minutes to fill out, would you mind taking part? your insights would be amazing - www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LRZTPYR thankyou again, its really helpful to hear ideas like yours!

I could bike mine but I do love reading on the tube (Prior to COVID) So you have a slightly different perspective on the bus or tube which is really interesting, would you mind filling out a survey (takes two minutes to do and its multiple choice) the answers are really helpful! www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LRZTPYR Thankyou

That is interesting, im glad the masking is usually pretty good for you! It's a shame people don't understand the importance. So as you also get a slightly different route in I have made a tiny survey it would be amazing to get your insights from your perspective. The survey is so short and multiple choice, should take two minutes. If you wouldn't mind the answers would give amazing insights - www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LRZTPYR thankyou
