But that logic is surely flawed unless both firms rid their own ops tickets and make it so that all tickets are accepted by both firms within Oxford. This is just a recipe for disaster otherwise. Drivers will be telling passengers to look at the legal lettering to know if their ticket is valid or not! There has been joint ticketing in the Smartzone for years - see www.oxfordbus.co.uk/smartzoneThis week's update on the Oxford Chiltern Bus Page (https://www.oxford-chiltern-bus-page.co.uk/Main%20Weekly%20briefing.html) has a little more on the rationale for using a common livery on Oxford. "Giles Woodforde on the livery for new electrics in Oxford I cannot be the only reader who has noticed - judging by your pics of the first Stagecoach electric to arrive in Oxford last week, the livery is very similar to OBC's colour scheme. Not a coincidence surely? I would be very interested to hear Mr Marion's comments on whether the two companies have worked together on this. Took my first ride on a 700 last week (bus 722). Very quiet and smooth - the driver reported that he was finding it "a dream" to drive. Luke Marion of Oxford Bus replied Yes, we worked together on this. This has been a project led by the county council to try to ensure that buses in Oxford have a more consistent livery going forward, as the council is not a fan of the route branding we have employed in recent years."

Stagecoach Oxford has operated its first battery-electric ADL Enviro400 EV in service - this may also be the first time the type has operated in passenger service in the UK. 80004 operated eight trips on Kidlington routes 2 and 2A on Friday 19th April. It has since operated on Blackbird Leys route 1 on Wednesday 24th April. It is also reported that 80001 has been registered as SK24 XRB and its previous registration of SK73 CZE has been voided. ===================== Photo of 80004 (not mine) in service on 19th April: www.oxford-chiltern-bus-page.co.uk/Pictures%20for%20298/D%20Beynon/SCO%2080004%20r%202A%20MSW%20190424%20D%20Beynon.jpg
