Here’s a video of a front view of a MCW Metrobus on the 232 from St Raphael’s to Wood Green. It’s weird how modern double deckers can’t get around the St Rapahael’s section of the 232 but the elderly MCW Metrobuses that were once allocated to the route has no trouble. 🤷🏿♂️

Also the route was diverted via Dollis Hill Lane when it was converted to s/d so there may be an issue there.

If that wasn't the case the 232 would definitely have DDs considering how packed the DEs and now the WS's. Edit: wirewiper beat me to it

So can these trees be pruned or not?

I don’t think there’s an issue on Dollis Hill Lane as the double decker extras that the 232 had during the pandemic went along there.

I guessing this was the time when the 232 was operated by MTL London. The 232 is weird Route it’s starts of a from Metroline dominated area and ends in a Cowie / Arriva London dominated area. The video bought back memories. I wonder what will it take for the 232 to be DD again could the trees at St Raphael’s be pruned.

This is actually a few weeks after Metroline completed their takeover of MTL London. Going through Brent Cross you can see a couple of brand new Marshall Darts on the 326 and C11 - these were delivered while the takeover was being finalised, and entered service with blue skirts, thus instantly introducing the Metroline livery to HT and PB.

I thought it was the Carriage or the island at its that prevented double deckers getting around it. So can these trees be pruned or not? They probably can I am doubtful. This streetview photo shows the location of the overhanging trees in the island - note the gentle lean into the carriageway and the pinchpoint provided by the car parking spots.
