Should know by Wednesday which of RATP new electric buses are going to receive 71-reg plates Tuesday 31st is last day that a 21-reg can be done and taxed, and basically anything that isn’t done will get the new plates. Haven’t checked, but unless there is sudden spurt in August registrations might be only 13 got 21-reg, therefore 180+ buses likely to get 71-reg The following BCEs were registered by 31st August so are confirmed as having 21-registrations: 47031/2/3/4, 47036/7/8/9, 47040, 47044, 47084/5/6. In theory 47030, 47035 and 47041/2/3 could have their 21-registrations voided and 71-registrations issued. 47045 and all higher-numbered BCEs (except 47084/5/6 mentioned above) are very likely to receive 71-registrations. Interestingly Go-Ahead's Me17 appears not to have been registered by 31st August so could also appear with a 71-registration. Arriva's EA3-7 are now registered (all after 1st September so carrying their booked 71-registrations) so can be used for driver training.

McGill's of Greenock has BV71 HYL, a Mercedes Benz Tourismo L. It is apparently one of three. McGills will probably have a number of 71-reg coaches as they are now a subcontractor to Flixbus. Photo (not mine): flic.kr/p/2mmpZVj

.... and the honour of first 71-registration bus to enter service on a TfL route goes to Arriva London's EA5 (LG71 DJX) when it operated on route 319 on Friday 10th September. EA2 (LG71 DJO) also entered service the same day.

And note that it advertises its credentials as a Zero Emission Electric Bus, in common with most other operators who have them. I wonder why TfL is so coy about its electric buses?

Elephant beat it already - Abellio & Go-Ahead operate electric buses through there with Abellio having two routes (C10 & P5) and Go-Ahead having one (360). Abellio will grow to three routes when they takeover the 63 Victoria has three different operators of electric buses - 507 under Go-Ahead, C10 under Abellio & C1 under RATP

<snip> Interestingly Go-Ahead's Me17 appears not to have been registered by 31st August so could also appear with a 71-registration. <snip> Go-Ahead Me17 entered service on 17th September with its booked 21-registration (YJ21 EYW).
