Alledgedly a train Derailed earlier in the evening knocking out the signals in the area leading to the other two trains colliding according to sky news .

The units involved seem to be 158763 and 159014. However someone pointed out to me that the SWR train appears to be in the old livery, whereas 159014 has the new livery. However it could be just the angle of the pictures and the fact its in the dark, more details will come out soon. The SWR unit appears to have come off much worse.

The lead set on the SWR train was indeed 159014, which as far as I can tell has definitely been refurbed to the latest SWR livery. I would guess it’s just the lighting or perhaps as it was a 9 car train the two attached sets haven’t yet been refurbished.

I'm not sure if the RTT allocation data was accurate for the train involved, as one of the pictures seemed to show one coach from 159102 involved. As there were delays across the West of England route today, it looks like this was one of many set swaps.

Most lines through Salisbury are blocked, and likely to remain so until the end of Thursday 4th November.
SWR is operating a two-hourly service between Gillingham and Exeter St David's. There is no service between Basingstoke and Gillingham.
GWR is operating between Cardiff Central and Salisbury, and between Romsey and Portsmouth Harbour. Rail replacement buses are operating between Salisbury and Romsey.
Tickets will be accepted for travel via alternative routes, including:
- GWR services to and from Reading and London Paddington - Cross Country services between Reading and Southampton Central - SWR services between Romsey and Portsmouth Harbour - Southern services between Brighton and Southampton Central, also between Brighton and London Victoria
London Underground will pass rail passengers between Paddington, Victoria and Waterloo.

Sadly it's now reported that one of the train drivers has sustained life changing injuries.
An hourly shuttle service is now running between Basingstoke and Andover.

Xelabus are accepting rail tickets on routes X6 and X7 between Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford.
Stagecoach South West are accepting rail tickets on route 4 between Exeter and Axminster, also on route 9 between Exeter and Honiton.
