Must be due for withdrawal anyway, are RHD bendybuses still available? Yes, these have reached the end of their service lives. Last day of operation is 29th January according to the article. I gather that these were chosen for the Ely routes as they served estates with a large population of new parents - they could take up to four baby buggys unfolded, which was considered a better use of capacity on these routes than a top deck of seats.

I had a ride on them a few years ago and they do seem to work quite well, I wondered then how much longer they would last and they have clocked up nearly 16 years service. I wonder whether further bendybuses would have been purchased if they had been available?

Must be due for withdrawal anyway, are RHD bendybuses still available? Yes, RHD bendy buses are still available. There is an articulated version of the Mercedes-Benz Citaro, known as the Citaro G. Stansted Airport had 21 of these buses delivered new in 2020/21. There will also be an articulated version of the Scania Fencer called the f18 but I believe this one is still in development. I've looked at a few brochures and it seems both have a choice of diesel, hybrid and electric drivetrains.

The only recent Artics are the NatEx fleet at Stansted Airport. First have a few albeit in Ireland (Dublin airport) and either York or Aberdeen, and Go Ahead Brighton have some of BOJOs exiles Doubtless their are others.........Long may Cardiff have it's own municipal company along wirh Lothian/Edinburgh.

Translink’s Glider fleet of Van Hool artics date from 2018. Transfer Airport Services also has Scania Omnicity artics on staff car park shuttles at Heathrow albeit, at 12 years old, they aren’t really recent!

Heathrow still has some Scania N280UAs, and for 12 year old vehicles that I don't think have had a major refurb, they look remarkably good. I wonder how much longer those will last! Internally they're getting rather tired. Only stuff been done to them recently is the fitment of a drivers 'assault screen' & grills over the opening windows. But they do the job they need to do, transport us the 5 minutes from the staff car park (N1 or 5) to T5. www.flickr.com/photos/62959794@N06/51852576286/in/dateposted-public/ - ironically, SA8 internally isn't that bad in comparison Some of them sound rather ropey too! Had YT10OBF, SA6 (emma jane) into work the other morning, the vibrations & spluttering its engine was giving off certainly woke me up at 04:30! Would of been a miracle it that had stayed out without going VOR at some point. Last summer, with the staff car parks closed, Transdev pressed them into service Airside, transporting arriving passengers from red list countries to T3 to clear immigration. As I was going about my merry way at work, I came across YT10OBJ, SA9 (daniella) internally combusting at the exit to the T5 tunnel road! Luckily no one was hurt. They were quickly pulled from that, being replaced by e200's. www.flickr.com/photos/62959794@N06/51310562031/in/dateposted-public/They do make a nice whining noise though when driven hard above 30-35mph, some drivers don't pay attention to those speed cameras on the Perimeter Road and regularly go through them at over 45! Got a video of SA8 from last year whilst Furlough was still in full swing, unfortunately though, the driver wasn't heavy footed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bm6qqzkLU8

Photo of an ex-Cardiff Bendybus on hire as a Metrolink Replacement in Manchester: flic.kr/p/2n5S6WKInterestingly it is 615 which suggests the Manchester enthusiasts purchased this one rather than 604.
