Very bad article. His reasons for axing seem to be because of the indirect nature of the route, the double runs and the traffic it encounters and nothing else. |

I don't think anybody would describe the 224 as scenic but I'm not sure that's a reason to axe it, the article does say that most people use it for short round the corner journeys. |

When it comes to 'bleakness' I've always thought of the 287, it is quite the atmospheric ride.

They need to try out the EL2 to Dagenham Dock! The most bleak terminal in London.

The 224 is bleak, no doubt about that. But that's not a reason to axe the route. He even said:
"The 224 is a route which provides multiple round-the-corner links to residential areas which are severed by the North Circular Road"
He just spelled out the reason why the 224 should NOT be culled!

What stop is this guy referring to when says and I quote “Then, you guessed it, another double run. This bus went in and out of everywhere more times than the Hokey Cokey. It was a lap in, out and around Brent Park Tesco and Ikea. A passenger flags the bus down at Ikea and asks: "are you going to Park Royal?"
"No, that's the other direction," the driver responds.
"Are you sure?" says the passenger as she glances at her phone confused.
"Yes! Other direction."
The passenger apologises, gets off the bus and goes to cross the road. Only that the 224 towards Park Royal does stop at that bus stop because it's a 'double run'. Chances are she would now then cross the road and the same thing would happen again. Yes, it is that confusing.”
Is he referring to the stop outside Tesco’s or outside Ikea? If it’s the latter then I don’t think that the Park Royal bound 224 serves the stop outside IKEA I’m confused 😕
He also says “Buses have got to go faster and to where people want to go if London has a fighting chance of tackling its climate emergency and saving its at risk bus service.” How is that going to be accomplished with all the heavy traffic.

Oh I read it wrong I thought that he was saying he was just saying that with 100s of routes being withdrawn he just take a journey out on what he thinks would be one of the candidates and now that I see he’s defending the route and how it shouldn’t be axed. My bad when I read it first I thought that he was saying that he wanted the 224 to be one of the 100 of routes to be axed oh 😂 my bad. |

If you want to see a bleak route try the 32 as there it not good views on that route
