I'm being a bit pedantic but I remember a time when the 185 couldn't turn right at Camberwell Green and had to turn left and go round the one way system that was in place then. Also a short lived Saturday only 185A that went to Elephant & Castle. I think the 185 is still fine as it is and I can't think of any change that would improve it. 24 hour would be a benefit as Forest Hill is cut off from Catford and Lewisham overnight, but it would lead to the section between Camberwell and Forest Hill being overbussed along with the 176. I also remember the 185A which was operated out of Q which provided much needed extra capacity between Camberwell and Lewisham. It was axed for an increased PVR on the 185 on Saturdays. What about rerouting the N47 to operate, instead of to TL, to Dulwich Library via the 185?

This where a 24 hour 75 would have been useful although it misses Forest Hill station still close by at Perry Vale and also gives South Norwood a night route too. Also with the P4, I know Dulwich residents would shut it down if a 24 hour route ever serves it, but except for Residents is there a possibility especially a Brixton to Lewisham link at night I can imagine that being popular.

51 seems to be very much the same, hasn’t really changed since peak journeys went to Green St Green and went to Swanley on a Sunday.
B16 has been the same since it’s conception.

Weren’t the 316 extended to White City in 2008? That was in 2007 No it wasn’t it was extended to white City in December 2008 when Westfields was opened in 2008. In 2007 it was still terminating at St Charles Hospital. Where do you get that the 316 that it was extended to White City in 2007 from? It’s say right in the link brr below that the 316 was extended to White City in 2008. www.londonbuses.co.uk/_routes/current/316.htmlHow could it have been extended to White City in 2007 when Westfields hadn’t been opened yet.

The 332 was created in 2007 but the extension of the 316 to White City didn’t happen until 2008. Sorry my bad, I thought the 332 was created simultaneously with 316 being re-routed No it wasn’t. It wasn’t a rerouting it was an extension. Well it was originally planned to introduce the 332 with the extension of the 316 to Shepherds Bush. But the plans fell through when the residents in the North Kensington area protested about the extension because they didn’t want the route running past there house so the extension of the 316 to Shepherds Bushed was halted. So the 332 was introduced anyway and the 316 stayed at St Charles Hospital. The extension of the 316 went ahead in 2008 to coincide with the opening of the Westfields shopping centre and after it was agreed with the residents of North Kensington along its current routing as long as no double deckers went onto the route. So no the 332 wasn’t introduced simultaneously with the 316 extension to Shepherds Bush.

Was that pre 1987? When major changes were made in the Orpington area.
Speaking of which the R4 seems to be the same since its conception 25 years ago.
