Over one million half price rail tickets in first ever Great British Rail Sale There does seem to be some good value tickets on offer! I took advantage of this after watching the news by grabbing Brighton to Bristol return for £28 instead of the usual £60 as the direct service ceases to exist in mid May. Just got to buy tickets to & from Brighton now 🤣

Do think it’s sad the state of affairs are that the government needs to mandate a nationwide sale to get people onto trains, meanwhile airports struggle to keep up with demand because of how cheap planes are. The government really need to work on making rail fares cheap all year around.

I think we saw the good deals that were offered when the train operating companies took the fare risk evaporate when the DfT took on the fare risk. Previously passengers were profit for TOCs. Now the are a costly operational inconvenience.

Was looking at London to Hitchin then return 2 days later for work, yet this "amazing" offer is only available in the other direction somehow. Even trying to see on a retailers website this offer doesn't show at all. A bit of a faff, especially for a normal customer
