I did not realise the Waterloo & City line had anything to do with National rail anymore. Is it signal controlled by National Rail? Signalling controlled by LU, using a panel installed in 1993. So would they switch the power off. Very confusing. There wouldn't be anyone at NR to switch traction current on in the mornings. I did not realise the power was turned off unless they were doing engineering work. So is the power turned off on the normal Underground network in the night.

It’s the other way around, power is normally turned off at set times each night, however if engineering trains are required to run power will be requested to stay on longer.

Minister calls on Mayor of London to drop congestion charge on rail strike days
This was also on ITV London this evening and the Mayor has no intention of backing down! I know it will increase congestion / pollution but he really should appreciate just how much a impact the strikes will have. He seems to have a knack of rub rubbing people up the wrong way.

lol, do you really think the mayor would do that and lose more revenue a day that the strikes are going to cost them revenue; fat chance, if anything, if they could they would have probably bump the price up on that day.

Strikes now confirmed as going ahead as talks have failed. Oh joy! Crawling down Euston Road at 9 metres an hour, in blazing sun as the foreign lorry in front of me decides he doesn't want the underpass after all as he holds everyone up All the Sunday drivers on the road who never drive will try to get to work instead of fight their way onto one of the borderline MOT pass buses that have appeared as "Extras" on the 205

But they tend to put on extra buses as even the essential commuters tend to overload the buses.

Last minute talks have failed so the strikes are going ahead.
Going to be a interesting few days especially tomorrow with the addition of the Tube strike.

Is the central section of the Elizabeth Line running tomorrow like the last strike? Seeing conflicting news reports. I know the outer sections will be impacted because they use Network Rail infrastructure.

Is the Tube strike drivers or station staff this time or both? I think the previous strike was station staff only but trains couldn’t run because stations were closed?
