Main issues raised:
1. Would like route 383 to operate
more frequently
We don’t think there is a strong enough business
case to justify the cost of increasing the
frequency of the route based on the current
usage. Therefore, we do not intend to do this at
this time however, we will keep the route under
review.
2. Would like route 383 to operate
later in the evening/on Sundays
Similarly, to an increase in frequency we don’t
think that there is a strong enough business
case to justify the cost of operating the route
later in the evenings and on Sundays therefore,
we do not intend to propose this at this time.
However, it will be taken into consideration when undertaking future reviews.
3. Would like route 383 (or another
route) to operate between Barnet
and Potters Bar to replace routes
84/384
We have been in discussions with Hertfordshire
County Council since we were informed that the
current operator would no longer be running
route 84 on a commercial basis from St Albans
through to Potters Bar and New Barnet from
April. Currently, we run routes 298 between
Potters Bar and Muswell Hill via Cockfosters and
route 313 between Potters Bar and Chingford
via Chase Farm Hospital and Enfield. School
day only service 626 links Dame Alice Owen’s
School with Chipping Barnet, New Barnet,
Whetstone, North Finchley and Finchley Central.
We also run route 399 during Monday to
Saturday inter-peaks linking Hadley Wood and
Chipping Barnet. Passengers from Barnet can
access Potters Bar on the TfL bus network by
using route 307 and changing at Cat Hill
roundabout in Cockfosters to route 298. This is
covered by the Hopper Fare. There is also a
direct rail service between New Barnet, Hadley
Wood and Potters Bar stations.
