London buses to be wrapped in purple to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum JubileeThe eight buses will be in service from Friday and will run on selected routes passing by iconic central London locationswww.standard.co.uk/news/london/queen-platinum-jubilee-tfl-commemorative-buses-london-b999869.htmlThe bus wraps will be in operation on selected buses on routes 6, 52, 98, 29, 319, 148, 65, 281,371, 205, 106, 212, 230, 357 and 270. Nice to see some non-Central routes getting some of it!! Unexpected that the 212, 230 and 357 (all Walthamstow), 65, 281, 371 (all Kingston), and for whatever reason the 2 70 are involved. I'm guessing the 6/52/98 are for convenience, since they share buses, some VWHs can be given the livery and randomly go out on the three. Similar example at SW with 77/87/88/155 since all of them use a random mix of EHs and WHVs

I think London is big enough for there to be more than eight such buses. I am quite happy for these buses to be in the suburbs, but quite honestly the centre of London should have more, particularly to welcome back tourists. In all honesty I can't see the Jubilee being what attracts tourists back, many people don't actually care much for the royal family and from what I've heard more people seem to be leaving the country over the weekend rather than staying in it to celebrate. In reality I don't think many people will notice the wrap, those who will go in for the Jubilee celebrations are likely to have decided to do so already. I do agree with your point though that buses can be used to attract tourists back into the centre of London, although this should by done by ease of access that people find out about on their own. That might explain why EN19 has disappeared from the 318... is she being wrapped for the Jubilee? Recent headlines haven't gone in the Royals favour, resentment in the Caribbean and most want to be Republics and drop the Commonwealth (British Empire), Prince Andrew and the notoriety of the whole scandals in the US with Epstein, and the fact that Prince Charles will not get as much traction as the Queen has done when he rules (many want the crown to skip to William if we continue with this charade)... I think when London Bridge falls there will be a constitutional change as many may want a Republic as well. Cost of living crisis whilst others live in luxury may just start irritating people in these anxious times. Already upset with the political elite and being under house arrest by Covid, most will just see it as a free Bank Holiday and little more. I for one, won't be standing 8 deep at the edge of The Mall, furiously waving a Union Jack

It is a matter of the usual left wing Marxist type people always shouting loudest saying what the country wants with their usual media outlets. But when the reality hits the country itself in a vote of referendum, it would more than likely reject it.

While actually 8 buses getting the purple wrap, I also look forward to seeing (unofficially) on the 221, 260,302 and of course my heavily used route 460.
Although should be an good balance between inner and outer London anyway. Personally the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations has quite an outer London feel anyway.

Doesn't seem that way in South and South East London, Sutton, Croydon, Bromley and Bexley, zilch, unless the 270 one wonders onto the 407 for the first 2, but not common.

The lefties shouting loudest through social media are convinced their opinion is held by the majority of the country. I’d very much welcome a referendum on the future of the Royal Family because a lot of people would be VERY shocked that the majority of the country still very much supports the Royal Family. It’s going to very much be a transitional reign for Charles but William and Catherine are going to be an excellent example of modern ruling monarchs

There's more talk of independence from within the UK, we could see a united Ireland under Sinn Fein, Wales and Scotland have had enough as the subject keeps on coming up from time to time. On the FB group it says each operated to pay for the wrap, a bit stingy from TfL. The only purple thing people are looking forward to is the Elizabeth Line to Abbey Wood

A wrapped WVL would have been nice shared between the 286 (serves Greenwich & Eltham, both with royal connections) and 129 and 180

I wonder how long they will keep them wrapped
The anniversary of accession to throne was back in February, and Platinum Jubilee celebrations end in 3 weeks time.
I am guessing they will linger for few months, gradually looking more and more out of place
