Ride London 2022 takes place Friday 27th May - Sunday 29th May. There will be widespread road closures in London on the Sunday.
East London will have some major busy road closures including the Barking Road and the two main roads that buses use towards Stratford will be severely affected. I imagine it will mean some routes are withdrawn for the day as it would be not worth running them as much of the route couldn't be used. Routes like the 25 could be curtailed at Bow? Central London will also have lots of road closures.

TfL Buses info
Many London bus routes will be on diversion or will stop short of their normal destination. Some bus stops will be temporarily relocated or suspended.
Allow extra time for your journey Check the status of your bus route Stratford and Canning Town bus stations will be very busy. Services from these bus stations will be on diversion or stopping at the bus station for alternative routes
These bus routes will be affected on 29 May:
1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 38, 42, 43, 46, 59, 66, 68, 69, 76, 78, 86, 87, 88, 91, 94, 98, 100, 104, 108, 115, 139, 141, 145, 147, 148, 150, 159, 167, 168, 172, 176, 179, 104, 188, 205, 211, 238, 241, 243, 257, 262, 275, 276, 300, 308, 309, 323, 330, 341, 343, 344, 362, 397, 425, 453, 462, 473, 474, 488, D3, D8, N3, N5, N7, N11, N15, N18, N20, N21, N25, N26, N41, N44, N53, N55, N63, N68, N86, N87, N89, N91, N97, N109, N113, N136, N155, N171, N199, N205, N279, N343, N381, W12, W13, W14

Just seen the A13 will also be closed (in both directions) from Beckton Roundabout to Aldgate! East London is going to be a nightmare!

Seems to be a much shorter list than when it used to go to Surrey That used to affect routes via Chiswick, Sheen, Kingston, Putney, And of course the X26 diversion via M25

This is the one week where I know half the people are going on holiday (plus it’s half term!). Luckily my flight is from Gatwick - I was on the verge of booking stansted

Just seen local signs around Canning Town and all roads approaching the bus station will be closed so not sure why TfL suggests the bus station will be open as this seems impossible.

Bus diversion signs are starting to go up for Ride London.
A 474 sign is up at Keir Hardie so assuming this is where the 147 and 474 will terminate. A sign is up for the 8 to turn right from Bow Bus garage Fairfield Road. This is a banned turn but assuming it will be allowed as Bow Road will be closed to cars on this day.

Usefully TfL haven't actually put the diversions these routes will be taking on the TfL website. The 173 is apparently going to be unaffected despite the A13 is closed so not sure what's going on there. The website does say Canning Town and Stratford bus stations will be very busy so I wonder if routes are stopping short of them or diverting all sorts of ways to specifically get to them.

Barking Road, Silvertown Way, Manor Road and the A13 all closed.

Spotted a few more diversion signs. 5, 115, 330 to turn right from Prince Regent Lane onto the A13 towards Canning Town.
Also spotted a turn left sign for the 300 on the opposite side of Prince Regent onto the A13 towards Canning Town. This one seems an error and based on the old routing which will not be in use on the 29th. I can’t think of a reason why the 300 after leaving Canning Town would be heading back there. This diversion makes sense for the old current route as Barking Road would be closed.
So it seems the bus station will be open on this day despite roads being closed.

Is this disruption worth it?

Is this disruption worth it? Those living in SW London and Surrey didn’t want it anymore because of the disruption and late reopening of roads, and the very limited crossing points (there are virtually no flyovers in SW London so routes to shops, hospitals etc couldn’t be reached).

Flyovers / tunnels are closed on the main routes in east London on major A roads. I think east London will come to a standstill!

We already endure the marathon which is fine, now starts close to home. But don’t need so many of these frankly, they can do in less developed areas without disruption to people Maybe hire brands hatch? 🤣

Honestly see no benefit in bottlenecking the whole of East London just so a few people can go and have a joyride on a road. They should just go and ride in a park.

After years of the LCC waging war on the motorist it is funny seeing them suffer a dose of their own medicine Seems the lead car will be restricted to 22mph and they are not allowed to overtake it. So funny to see the cyclists ball aching over it! 😂🤣😂
