Not sure if this has been mentioned but confirmed PVRs are: 209= 1 378= 4 533= unchanged. Which leaves 5 SEs released from AF. They could easily slot into PL to convert the 485. The 485 has already converted to 10.8m SE’s released from the 170 I therefore wonder whether there are any other GA London routes using older shortish single-deckers that could be upgraded to ex-route 209/378 examples?

I think the 485 would still be a good option - but on the basis of moving back to AF. It's PVR of 4 would be a good fit to replace the cut on the 209/378, and the 485 could even have some crosslinks at Castelnau? The older 60reg SEs could easily be reallocated or withdrawn.

While MMCs are basically nicer, I saw the post about it already having 10.8m buses. I therefore consider these more suitable than the shorter ones released from routes 209 & 378.

Now the changes have happened I am surprised to see no effort has been made to put up new timetables, or if they did, they didn't bother in Putney. I walked past five 378 bus stops today and not one had the new timetable. I find that particularly bad given the route has also changed. How are the loadings going? 378 seems to have stayed about the same from what I've seen / used but given the number of buses has halved is that because of the changed routing or people being willing to wait, I am not sure.
I was at the Castlenau bound Barnes Pond stop over the weekend. There are no new 209 or 378 timetables, though someone has added a 378 tile to the stop that was previously not served. There is a yellow flyer warning that the 209 service is being halved. Of course the person who added that didn't remove the other yellow flyer suggesting that if you want to get to Hammersmith you should somehow get a "Putney Heath" bound 265 and get off at Putney Bridge Station. An accurate flyer would say Putney Bridge bound. An even more accurate flyer would say walk across the road to the bus stop opposite and get a 533.

Publicity at bus stops for changes has become extremely poor or non existent. When the Tulse Hill & Herne Hill routes returned to serving Brixton Station recently, very little information was published at stops which has resulted in some people seemingly have no idea that they can grab the bus outside the shops rather than trudging up to St Matthews Estate

On the assumption that means relying on the same technology that makes Countdown work then at many bus stops it will be very hit and miss. At least with paper there is something there 24/7 regardless of any digital infrastructure failures. The paper system is only failing because TfL isn't managing it properly.
It's all very well agreeing a London wide digital bus stop strategy but I'd put money on something like that being agreed and then the operator discovering the annual maintenance cost is unsustainable. Is TfL really going to put digital kit in at every suburban bus stop that has a half hourly service? I think not.

The digital one in Sloane Square has old bus timetables

Just been waiting for a Putney bound 378 at Barnes Bridge. The stop has a yellow flyer announcing changes to the 209, no mention of the 378 changes despite the fact it now serves several 209 stops and therefore is an alternative ride. No 209 timetable to know when the half hourly bus runs. There is a 378 timetable but it's showing the old route and the old frequency.

Pretty poor now nearly 3 weeks on particularly with the freqs on both routes that people are going to want to know and make a note of the times past the hour.

Somebody has made a helpful video on the many ways of getting to Hammersmith from Mortlake specifically (with the aim of finding the quickest), watch it here. I recommend that locals to the area watch this, I also think Castelnau could benefit with this video.
