Had a feeling something like this would happen when RAPT sold the company- challenging operating areas competing with a larger group owned company.
Hopefully someone will pick up the business.

The big problem in recent years has been messing about with rerouting
Some areas lost their buses, other routes were moved and ended up competing with Morebus, others stopped serving some obvious traffic centres like medical centres and shops

Very sad news I had a lot of holidays in boscombe as a child and always loved riding the yellow buses I hope something works out for the staff affected and Bournemouth finds a way to keep its yellow buses

I sense Yellow Buses' reputation has not been great in recent years so I agree it's unlikely Morebus would want to associate itself with the brand. I remember being on a holiday in Bournemouth/Poole at the time the Yellow Buses brand (rather than nickname) was adopted. I will always associate it with the rare Marshall bodied Leyland Olympians. Bournemouth strikes me as the sort of place that might benefit from having a single operator in the Brighton style. I couldn't see room for both.

Yellow Buses will cease operating tonight, which means no bus services on Friday 5th August. A reduced service is being operated on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th August with the Saturday timetable on most routes.
The coaching operation has been sold to National Express so will continue unchanged for now.
More Bus replacement services (see below) start on Saturday 6th August. Fifteen new ADL Enviro400 MMCs that have been delivered ahead of schedule for Bournemouth University services will be deployed, although not necessarily on former Yellow Buses routes. Other buses are also being moved into the area.
Unexpired Yellow Buses period tickets will be accepted for travel on any More Bus service within Zone A up to Sunday 13th August.
More Bus is offering jobs to Yellow Buses staff and will operate a recruitment centre for personal callers from Friday morning. Staff who are on leave can still download an application form on line.
The new More Bus routes that will operate are:
1/1A 1/1B Bournemouth - Christchurch every 15 mins Bournemouth-Poole is covered by More Bus routes M1/M2 operating every 7-8 mins
1B 1A Bournemouth - Somerford every 15 mins Highcliffe and New Milton are covered by More Bus routes X1/X2
2 Bournemouth - Castlepoint via Boscombe every 30 mins, continuing to Bournemouth as route 4 4 Bournemouth - Castlepoint via Moordown every 30 mins, continuing to Bournemouth as route 2 Routes 2 and 4 will interwork as circular services with buses changing route number at Castlepoint, this will cover the Moordown-Iford section including Royal Bournemouth Hopsital. Route 4 will no longer operate to Christchurch. More Bus route 14 operates between Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Castlepoint and Kinson.
5/5A Bournemouth - Kinson via Charminster every 15 mins
6/6A Bournemouth - Bearwood every 30 mins, continuing hourly to Wimborne (6) or Kinson (6A)
737 Bournemouth - Airport (limited peak hour service)
