Question when the Queen died was it announced on the Ibus? From what I can gather from Twitter and on YouTube drivers was informed of the death of the Queen. Dubble Decker Anton did say they was informed via Ibus in London that is.

Bank holiday approved for day of Queen's funeral
I suspect some retailer will close so staff can watch the funeral.

I wouldn't bet too much on it, I imagine some of the ones like Selfridges and John Lewis may at a push but most others will now see a Bank Holiday where people are flooding London and will probably try to get more staff to work than normal.

Recently shops such as Iceland have closed early for major football matches. I remember in 1997 most places were closed on the morning of Princess Diana’s funeral. Anyway it’s too early to know what will happen but no matter what it will be huge event and imagine probably the biggest tv event ever around the world.

One thing we can be certain of this is that Lidl will be open. They never close unless forced to. 😂

That’s the only time Iceland have done something like that, they are usually like the rest of them opening up to grab whatever custom they can. I’d be very surprised if I’m not working that day as per every Bank Holiday

Oxford Street feels very surreal with no music blasting from the shops.

Apologies for the lateness of this post. Like many of us on this forum, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. Sadly, the moment that the BBC announced that Charles, William and Harry were all heading up to Balmoral in the hours before the announcement that the Queen had died, I knew she was in big trouble. But I still find it surreal that the Queen, an ever present in most, if not all of our lives, is no longer with us. I don't think we will see any monarch as loved and respected as she was, and the Platinum Jubilee celebrations showed that. Speaking of which, at least The Queen did get to witness her Platinum Jubilee, and was also present to open the Elizabeth line - named after her of course. And it was rather fitting that her last act as Queen was to inaugurate Liz Truss. The fact that she kept on doing her duties right up until she died shows how much of a loyal servant she was to our country. Whilst she was 96 years old, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that her death did come as a bit of a shock as she seemed to be in good health, and was not constantly going back and forth from hospital like Prince Philip was. I personally thought she’d make it to 100 years old and possibly beyond. May you rest in peace, your majesty and thank you for your service It has also just been confirmed that The Queen's Funeral will take place on Monday 19th September

19th September will be the Queen's funeral and will also be a be fitting if she would be arriving back in London by the Royal Train but it looks like it's she will arrive by plane.

It would’ve been good as the Queen could have one last trip across the country she served throughout her life. But this would also create security issues at stations and there would need to be police at every station the train passed through so it probably does make sense to fly her back.

Noticed a number of buses which had wraps for the Queen’s Jubilee have had them removed since the death of the Queen, including LT70 which I saw near Victoria today back in red and Abellio’s 2022. I would’ve thought TfL kept them on until at least the end of the year as a mark of respect.

They were a celebration of the Jubilee and could be seen as insensitive if used now. Even if retained it probably wouldn’t have been practical to keep that many buses off the road until after the funeral.

It's no surprise the day the death was announced they all got pulled at once and then all their wraps taken off. I would like to see a memory wrap turn up maybe towards the end of this year.
