I wouldn't bet too much on it, I imagine some of the ones like Selfridges and John Lewis may at a push but most others will now see a Bank Holiday where people are flooding London and will probably try to get more staff to work than normal. Selfridges closed the day after her death I could be wrong but imagine most places will shut on the morning of the funeral and open around 1pm. This means supermarkets and the like can still get 6 or 7 hours trading.

Indeed I would really hope that anyone who wants to go and pay respects or watch the event can do so without having to work - obvious caveats around essential workers etc

Selfridges closed the day after he death, but notably did any others? Selfridges closing if anything I'd even just put down to a publicity stunt to please their clientele as opposed to benefiting their staff.

The cynic in me would suggest that they closed because they need to angle for new royal warrants as they became void with the death of the Queen.

For one moment I thought you were referring to the shopping centre in Romford Showing my age... I guess it could be a mark of respect for such but I'm sure who's ever in charge of purchasing for the Royal Household won't be agonizing over shops at this precise moment... ie bags of Tate & Lyle sugar will continue until gradually the warrant is replaced by the King's. Change over of money will be interesting as all most of us have seen is the Queen's head on a coin for all these years. Plus passports will change All this will be gradual, as things change. Someone said the Elizabeth Line will be known as the Queen Elizabeth Line by TfL, though don't know how true that is

But I believe NMCC had listed it as that as a mark of respect I guess.

Looks like it will be a extremely busy week on the transport network as hundreds of thousands of people are expected to be in London this week paying respect to the Queen.

John Lewis , Waitrose and Primark have also confirmed they will be closed Monday.
I am sure more will follow as the week goes on. It’s the right thing to do IMO.

Just got an email from TfL
Following the death of Her Majesty the Queen, ceremonial events are taking place over the next seven days in order to allow members of the public to pay their respects during this period of national mourning. This includes the Lying-in-State at the Palace of Westminster from Wednesday 14 September.
These events are expected to bring thousands of people from all over the UK and beyond to London, which will lead to busy services and short-term changes to how stations operate, including queuing or changes to the way you may need to enter or exit a station. There are also road closures in place throughout central London which will impact on some cycling routes and bus services.
We are doing everything we can to keep our city moving and ensure people can travel safely. Please allow extra time for your journey and avoid driving where possible.
What you can expect from our services Tube services will be running as normal, however some stations will be busier than usual, and some short-term safety measures such as queuing, closures, non-stopping or changes to the way customers enter or exit a station may be necessary Customers are encouraged to avoid Green Park Tube station if possible, due to high numbers of customers passing through, and to keep capacity for customers who need step-free access. Other Tube stations, such as Victoria, Piccadilly Circus and St James's Park, are within a short walking distance of Buckingham Palace Other stations expected to be busier include: Westminster, Charing Cross, Embankment, Victoria, Waterloo, St James's Park, Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch The Elizabeth line will run a special service with 12 trains per hour on the central section (Paddington-Abbey Wood) on Sunday 18 September to provide further transport options for customers Due to road closures, some buses will stop short of their destination or will be on diversion until after the events. They may also run to a reduced frequency All rail and bus strikes that were planned to take place this week have now been called off Some cycle routes will be impacted by road closures, such as C3 Santander Cycles will operate as normal, but some docking stations may be closed London River services will operate as normal.

Twitter has been an absolute mess over the past few days, very disappointing to see a complete lack of respect and decency from people who hide behind a screen.
In other news, it's a shame that some of my fellow Liverpool fans are hellbent on disrupting minutes of silence. Debates over the Royal Family can be conducted but this should be a short period of reflection and respect to the Queen herself, not the institution. Will be so embarrasing for the club and the city if silences are broken.
