It seems to stem from before this incident. I imagine they might walk away anyway.

There was zero need for them to visit without queuing especially when This Morning is is about real peoples lives. It would have been far better for Holly and Phil to be interviewing people in the queue, getting their reaction and grabbing people coming out of Westminster Hall for a different reaction. But instead we get two sudo-journalists who are so far removed from real people disrespecting the 250k who queued.

Well when you consider that fellow ITV presenter Susanna Reid had queued I don’t see any excuse as to why they felt it was necessary to jump the queue. I feel as if in particular Schofield believes that he is above everyone and it’s not a surprise that people who have worked with him such as Fern Britton & Amanda Holden have shown distaste towards him. Whilst I am 100% for people coming out if they are part of the LGBTQ+ community (you should always live true to who you are), his coming out was also very fishy especially when you consider the backstory to him coming out (his affair with a 18 year old man who worked on This Morning) and came out of it completely unscathed despite having cheated on his wife who he has been married to for 30 years, it’s no surprise there’s such public backlash against Phil and Holly and I believe that they will both end up walking as a result

Beckham is a complete *bleep* with his jealously towards not being knighted and throwing abuse at several others who got honours from the Queen but managed to queue up according to all accounts so what Schofield does around his sexuality and wife really shouldn't be brought up in this topic

I'm not sure what will happen to Phil if that ever happened

Twitter is twitter there's always drama, it's not a surprise 🙄 It’s not just on Twitter all the usual mainstream media sites like Metro are all over it too. It’s like they need something new to cover after two weeks of no news apart from the Queen. This Morning loves a revelation it’s happened before with other presenters.

I think this is another story that has been blown way out of proportion by the media. Phillip, Holly and ITV have already stated that they were there for media purposes, and they followed the rules that were set for members of the media, so they haven’t done anything wrong. You can clearly see on the video that they did not file past the Queen’s coffin and therefore didn’t jump the queue, so surely that should be the end of the story? Like I said at the start, this is a classic case of the media making a story out of people who are just trying to do their jobs and trying to ruin their reputation as a result.

The fact is they didn’t need to be there, you can’t even broadcast from within Westminster Hall so it was a complete nonsense segment anyway. They are nothing more than personalities presenting for bored housebound parents or home workers. The fact is there is video of them brazenly walking past hundreds of people queuing and joining the carpeted area once they left the platform. At this point it’s more about ITV taking us for fools than it is about the actual queue. They are no more journalists than I am and I did a degree in it.

I think Phil and Holly have ruined their own reputation here. Politicians have also been queue jumping but people like Rees Mogg have been dragged through the mud enough times for the public to know that's the sort of personality it has. I imagine more was expected from Phil and Holly, especially when Susanna Reid waited in the queue and didn't queue jump herself.
