I would say one famous one would be the 375 and its Passingford Bridge terminus just before a roundabout and a few moments from the M25. It does seem you're getting dropped off in the middle of nowhere or short of anywhere useful. It's the first convenient turning point past the GLA boundary - the purpose of the route going out that far is to provide a service to Havering-atte-Bower, which it links it to nearby town centres and a station. Should be extended to Ongar make some ££££ bring in some revenue .

Should be extended to Ongar make some ££££ bring in some revenue . Obviously a completely fantasy idea, but in an ideal world I would extend the 375 all the way to Epping via Ongar and North Weald Bassett (and increase it to hourly). It would provide a bus service for the old section of Central Line and provide a good few new links.

That's got to be a hangover from the old days of the London Country garage at Swanley (now Go Coach), which is the stop before and I think used to be the old 21A terminal many years ago. Had to use that stop in the summer, actually (had to get to Crockenhill football club, was quite a jolt to hop off the 233 and be walking through farmland soon after) and there's a fair number of homes down that end of Swanley. All that said, a reroute to the station would make some sense - there's more housing down there, you're in walking distance to Crockenhill village and the station takes Oyster. I wonder if it's ever been looked into. I’d definitely think the 233 taking people to Swanley Station would make a lot more sense. I'm not sure there's room for a stand at the station, it's often congested when rail replacement buses are in operation.

341 wins again for "Northumberland Park- Angel Road Superstores", made even more ironic since one Superstore (IKEA) has gone, and the bus stop (and iBus) says it's "Meridian Water, Glover Drive" ahead of new housing to replace the IKEA site Also, Angel Road Station closed over 3 years ago and to be picky the road's name is "Angel Edmonton Road" on the A1055 See that part of London always confused me. To my understanding I've always associated Northumberland Park with Tottenham even though the IKEA came under the Enfield Borough and Tottenham being under Haringey. Then the volvos used to always display "Northumberland Park Tesco" on it's blinds I even remember seeing Northumberland Park Tesco on the 341's back in the day even in 1996 on my first job in the City Technically true as it's the nearest Tesco to the area. To be honest Lea Valley Tesco would do as the store's official name but TfL like to complicate matters with their stupid blinds that still don't help any newcomers to the area More reason to give LED blinds a little more to do like everyone else does outside London to show more info. We do it for our trains, but not on buses... The Enfield border is at the A1055, but it's still called Northumberland Park even though it's N18. Our local Tottenham Morley's Chicken is in Edmonton N18, we like to be confusing in these parts

Arriva’s 476 used to terminate there for years before it was renumbered the 429 and taken over by Go Coach.

Should be extended to Ongar make some ££££ bring in some revenue . I suspect that would require a significant subsidy. Ongar is not close to the current terminus so the extra 25-30 minutes runtime to do this run would require an extra bus. A lot of extra passengers would be required to cover the cost of that let alone make it revenue positive!

Ongar is literally 10 minutes away from Passingford Bridge which quite literally is in the middle of nowhere tbh and I know it would never happen but in a ideal world tfl would look at some ways to drive up patronage on some underused routes like in bygone days , I do think the 347 and 375 could be combined though to make one long quaint route if you like that runs everywhere but also nowhere at the same time . But back to Quaint/Bizarre destinations I think most routes that terminate on the outskirts of London stop at some quite random places that are literally just on the edge of London but nowhere Chigwell Row on the 150 is also one I think serves the small village but doesn't actually go down the road to serve it and Miramar way for the 256 is also another one in between Hornchurch Stn and Rainham but literally in the middle with a few houses but not a Major termini if you like not that routes should have to terminate somewhere busy but surely would be better if extended to somewhere with more patronage .

A 443 Express (Ongar - Waterloo via Woodford, Seven Sisters, and Holborn) could provide much needed work at Edmonton and Grays TfL may not be making any outrageous changes to the route, even more so if their ULEZ Expansion plans, drawing much hatred on the news from residents and politicians at present, don't bring in the money we also have to think how much any route extending far out of London would really be used in the day. We already have deckers on the 73 carrying oxygen in the daytime once rush hour is done...

I'm sure there were buses that used to terminate at Hounslow Heath Hussar. Whenever I saw or heard it I always thought of someone shouting Hussar then doing a karate chop.

Not far from Hounslow West and Hounslow Heath The Hussar is a former pub on Staines Road, now a bar and restaurant. Hussars are a class of cavalrymen (horse-mounted soldiers) and the term originated in Central Europe. Hounslow Heath has strong historic connections with the military due to its proximity to London and Windsor.
