A small gripe I know, but I do wish Merseyside hadn’t chosen a yellow livery as well as Manchester. When there are so many colours to pick, why have two yellow counties one next to the other? Probably partly because yellow was already being used for both Metrolink trams and Merseyrail.

As said above, green might have been better for Merseyside.

Would have been nice if they used a maroon and cream or green and cream based livery as a nod to the Merseybus era.

Green and cream has a longer term tradition having been the Merseyside PTE colour scheme. Maroon and cream (or officially cream and crimson) was decided by Merseybus post-deregulation.

When my grandparents lived in Southport in the late 80’s/early 90’s all the Atlanteans (except the open toppers, in their red & cream), Nationals and the weird looking Bristol things (that looked like they had the rear hacked off them as there was virtually no rear overhang) had all been painted into the Crimson livery, but you still saw bits of publicity with buses in the green livery. They actually lived on Cobden Road and you could see the beautiful Southport garage from their garden, when alighting from the 7 bus as it was then, you would alight on the garage forecourt, always a treat to see what was lurking inside when the garage doors were open.

In other words this BRT system will proceed anyway, barring unforeseen glitches or .... cough .... broken pledges .... cough.
