Reading Buses Green Line 702 to join the Superloop Network
In a shock announcement, Reading Buses has revealed that it has been in talks with Transport for London during the development of the Superloop Network, and it is the intention that its Green Line route 702 joins the network "at the earliest opportunity".
As an interim measure, the frequency will be increased with a bus every 15 minutes between London Victoria and Slough.
It has further been revealed that the new ADL Enviro400 City vehicles on order will be painted in the Superloop livery, and a further ten are on order.
Said Pilar Lofo, Reading Buses' charismatic Spanish Spokesperson: "We are very excited by the Superloop concept, which represents a step-change forward in bus travel in London, and we have been delighted to have been involved and for our prestigious 702 route to join the Superloop Family. Also we get paid by TfL to carry fresh air around - what's not to like? Oh sorry, that bit was off-record."
To mark the occasion, Reading Buses ADL Enviro400 City 795 has been repainted in Superloop livery and will be exhibited at a special ceremony at Reading Buses' Great Knollys Street depot at 12 noon today (1st April). All attendees are promised a free Superloop cupcake.

This is what I would propose: X492 Bluewater to Orpington Bluewater Shopping Centre Darent Valley Hospital or Greenhithe station Dartford station Crayford Sainsbury's Bexleyheath Clock Tower Bexley Library Foots Cray High Street St Mary Cray station Orpington High Street Orpington station Would run vid the 96 or 492 between Bluewater and Dartford, then the 96 to Bexleyheath, 492 to Foots Cray, 51 to Orpington. I think its a shame that there is no express route to Orpington. X119 or X353 Orpington to West Croydon Orpington station Locksbottom St Michael's Church Hayes station West Wickham High Street Shirley Library Sandilands Tram stop East Croydon station West Croydon station Would run via the 353 to Hayes, then the 119 to Croydon but would run direct via the A232 between Coney Hall and West Wickham. Also to link Croydon to Orpington (which there currently isn't unlike Croydon to Bromley) X26 West Croydon to Heathrow Central Would run via the 157 between Waddon and Carshalton the stop at Wallington Green would no longer be served but would instead serve Wallington station (or town centre) X140 Heathrow Central to Harrow bus station Would no longer stop at Manor Lane/Manse Close, Willow Tree Lane and Tangmere Gardens to speed up journey times X107 Harrow bus station to New Barnet Harrow bus station Harrow and Wealdstone station Canons Park station Edgware station Apex Corner Stirling Corner Rowley Green Road Barnet Hospital/Queens Road Barnet Church High Barnet station New Barnet station Would run via the 186 to Edgware, the 292 to Stirling Corner, the 107 to New Barnet X307 High Barnet to Chingford Barnet Church High Barnet station New Barnet station Oakwood Station Enfield Chase station Enfield Town station Great Cambridge Road or Southbury station Ponders End High Street or station Chingford station The overlap with the previous route exists because Barnet Church is an awkward place to have a route stand from the west, as it misses the main objective in Barnet (High Barnet station), and I don't believe that there's a stand at High BarnetWould run via the 307 and 313 X179 or X66 Chingford station to Romford station Chingford station Monkhams Lane Woodford station Manor Road/Roding Lane North (for Woodford Bridge) Fulwell Cross Newbury Park station Romford market Romford station Would run via the 179 to Woodford Green, the 275 to Barkingside, the 169 to Newbury Park, the 66 to Romford. Possibility of adding stops in Little Heath and Marks Gate Romford to Lakeside Romford Market Romford station Queens Hospital Hornchurch town centre/Billet Lane Hornchurch station Rainham Road Rainham War Memorial or station Lakeside shopping centre Would run via the 365 to Hornchurch, the 652 to Rainham, the 372 to Wennington, Arterial Road, then the 372 again from the M25 to Lakeside Your X119 or X353 would not be able to start at Orpington Station, with an impossibly tight right turn out of Station Approach. It would have to start with the R2 at Gravel Pit Way.

TfL have now planned to rebrand the Superloop, it is what Khan really wanted it to be. Buses would be powered by excrement and passengers gets bonus refunds for passing wind to generate power for the bus. In a further development, they will drop the final letter so that it is branded as Superloo, to rhyme with the Bakerloo I wonder if they'll implement any other changes, like making the overall loop geographically look like a poop...

Especially if it was diverted via Paddington, Heathrow Central and extended to Reading. Excellent alternative to the Elizabeth Line for strike days or engineering days. Probably not commercially viable but I don’t hate it.

Perhaps the superloop should run in Khan's constituency and past his house too, see how he likes it!

Well he does have a history in pooping, sorry I mean Tooting My Superloo/Bakerloo was an April Fool's joke to add to the existing ones. A gold star to anyone who noticed my other 4 April Fool's joke posts earlier. I have enjoyed this April Fool's Day being on a Saturday

Possibly because there's the underground or other tfl services there. Say you're travelling from Edmonton to Romford, you currently have to take 3 buses, or 2 trains via Liverpool Street. The superloop brings you to Ilford and from there you can catch either the 128, 86,, 396 or the Elizabeth line. South London doesn't really have many tfl services, like it's mostly national rail which will most likely result in making a journey into zone 1. So possibly money saving reasons

In principle I think this is a good idea.
However why has Thamesmead been missed out? Surely the bus from Bromley could head there.
